2014 Candidate Weekend

This section of CC is entirely too quiet! DS received e-mail today saying his file is complete! Just sit and wait now!

Who has applied?

Good luck to all!

My D applied, it is her only favorite college. She got the email too and hoping for the best. Good luck to all :)

Happy ORegon Mom

Good luck to both of y’all. My daughter is a sophomore at Olin, so ask away if you have questions.

Good luck to everyone! My D is a freshman at Olin and we’re local in the area too, so I’m happy to answer questions about Olin or the general area.

My son has chosen to apply. I didn’t think he was going to, but the current students at the open house all talked about how great their experiences were at their own candidates’ weekend. That swayed him into the “apply” column.

I hope all your students have the opportunity to experience CW.

January 29th can’t come any sooner. I turned in my quarter one grades late, so I’m a really nervous.

I read that admissions will send an email on 29th. Is that new? I remember reading parents waiting for the packets to arrive. Good luck to everyone. D will thrive there but her stats are in the midrange, hoping for a miracle :)

Does anyone know if the emails will go out early on the 29th or late in the day. I am so excited/nervous/delighted/terrified. It’s been a long road to this point.

Good luck to all those who applied. I hope you make CW especially if it is your first choice. I went through this last year with my son. Olin was his first choice and he is now a Freshman and I do not think I have ever seen him happier. He loves the hands on work

They’re going to release the decisions on the portal site the morning of the 29th. I thought that I could wait 12:00am EST to find out, but it turns out that I’ll have to sleep it out. (Darn!)

Anyway, I’m super nervous. I just got info that I was being compared against other people who are geographically similar to me, so I’m even more screwed. I sincerely hope that I will be able to attend.

Good luck to you, malkovichio! And to the rest of the students & parents!!
B-)

I’m so nervous about this. I’ll probably end up checking my email obsessively between classes. Olin is definitely my first choice school so crossing my fingers. Good luck to everyone who applied!

Any updates on admission status? By Portal, does it mean you login and check your account?

Decisions went up. Didn’t get in. Apparently, due to people taking a gap year from last year’s admitted class they can only take 64 out of the 990 who applied. Ouch.

My DD got in for CW. Really excited and nervous about it. Are there others on this forum who got accepted for CW?

Rejected. I’m surprised, but with an admit rate, even just for the Candidate weekend, as low as Olin’s, oh well. Good luck to all of you attending CW. sigh.

I got in for CW this year. It’s exciting to be part of it

I’m invited, too! so excited :D

I’ve been selected as a Candidate! I’m so happy beyond words. I’ve loved Olin ever since I received the Olin Prospectus in the mail and I can’t wait to go to CW! <3 Congrats to everyone else who was selected as a Candidate and best of luck to those who didn’t make it. I believe there’s a college out there for everyone. I was assigned to February 28 - March 1. Anyone also assigned to that weekend? hmu if you are! And is there financial aid for traveling to Olin? I live in Southern California, so flights to Massachusetts will cost quite a lot, especially with less than a month until CW. Also, is there anything I can do to prepare for CW? Any advice would be appreciated.
