2014 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread

Haha, I’m getting the same prompt in the housing section of the website. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t indicate anything and displays it to everyone who has access to the page.

@Zalrons - For one or two Saturdays out of the Academic year? You bet your ass they do.

@Taylorsams13 yup mine just changed back to unavailable. I did screen-shot the other message though. sucks.

@matt, yeah you might be right.

Annnnd it just changed back… This is giving me a migraine lol.

yes it just changed back….lol I’m going to stop checking for a while at least

@sonic23 Earlier tonight, someone posted that UCSD maintenance had accidentally reverted back all admission decisions to pending, so I really think that this applies to us.

@CollegeDropout1 do you think thats why were are getting the housing messages? Im stalking twitter and UCSD site had been having crazy problems all day… really wish we could all just know already lol

@sonic23 Now that you mentioned UCSD website have problems, I’m also starting to think that it could be a fluke. I am starting to get another message when I click on my housing application tab. It is the old “Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated.” message. UCSD has had a history of messing up admission decisions.

@CollegeDropout1 oh yea well thats what i had figured once my message changed 3 times in 5 minutes lol

You’d think that with students paying tuition costs there’d be at least a little bit of money to secure a much more decent website that won’t potentially send out fake acceptance letters. The five minutes of sheer happiness I got from my early April Fools joke was enough to keep me satisfied for a bit longer.

Hopefully we’ll see answers tomorrow, or at least a website that isn’t having mood swings.

I just logged in and checked my housing status and its actually allowing me to submit my housing application even though I haven’t received an admission offer. Anyone else getting that?

well can’t tell anything from the website but I know UCSD really did their marketing successfully. lol

managed to get a screenshot before the housing application changed again. I think its just a portal error again, I highly doubt they’re coming out tonight. :(

@Aaryan520 A lot of people got it but it goes away and reverts back to the “check back” message. Try to check again and it will probably give you the “check back” message as well. It doesn’t mean anything. It switches back and forth between the two messages. Sorry to disappoint you.

@Aaryan520 I am experiencing the same thing. I think that we are going to have to wait until monday to find out if we got in. I am pretty sure the UCSD’s website is malfunctioning, and I am pretty sure that nothing can be done about it until Monday, since that is when their IT department gets back.

if you guys check the HS UCSD thread they are saying the “housing trick” is if it tells you to check back later in mid march/spring your in
if it says that your admissions status won’t allow you…that you are denied…

and that everyone is getting access to that whole sumer address/housing application page…

as for the housing trick do you guys think there is any truth to it?

I highly suggest everyone to calm down. since ppl have been testing around their site but it just comes out with different things every time you click that button. Save yourself some time for the coming new week!! Good news will come!

@sonic23, if what you are saying is true, then I guess I got rejected.

My guess about today’s fuss is the server error due to the massive access of froshes. It simply does not seem sensible that 1) UCSD didn’t send the emails of notification before they post the results, 2) the messages have been rolled back to the default ones, and 3) only a few students logged into the portal and confirmed their status.

I don’t have any information about the exact date of their positing, but I think I am sure today’s pandemonium is just the result of the server error.
