2014 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread

i also have TAG with GPA3.7 and got changed housing message today!

I don’t have TAG and got the message today, haha.

What could it mean?

In the beginning of the thread Ill make sure to indicated the pages that transfers for next year would have to skip over.

I have TAG and got the updated message. I’m a bit confused… is it the rejected message, accepted message, or meaningless?

@jlt2916‌
I just checked last year’s thread and you’re right that this is the same housing message some people were getting before they got admitted. Dun dun dun!!! :open_mouth:

Or again…this could be nothing.

For those whose messages changed: when did you submit your TAU?

What is the new housing message that you guys got? Can someone please copy and paste it here? Thanks~

“The Housing Office currently does not have updated information on your Admission Status and therefore cannot accept a housing application today. You may come back to this link once Admissions has communicated their decision on your application to UC San Diego. You can check this by logging in at myapplication.ucsd.edu.”

If you take every 4th letter of this message and shift it on the alphabet 5 spaces to the left, it spells out

“Congratulations, you’ve been accepted to UCSD.”

Hi guys. I applied to transfer last year and didn’t get in because my math class wasn’t accepted. I have a 3.8 GPA and applied as a Russian language major. Last year, I wasn’t notified until the LAST DAY of April, so it’s okay that there are a lot of people who haven’t gotten a yes or a no yet! Also, last year I had the “bad” housing message all the way until the end.

This year I got that math class, and my housing message just changed to the “good” one. I just want to tell you guys DO NOT WORRY if you do not get in or rejected on this wave. There were people accepted on the last day of April last year as well! Don’t fret, guys! It’ll be okay!

@Savannahbobanna‌

What the heck is the “bad” housing message? Lol

Mine didn’t change. No TAG. I think a new batch is coming out. We shall finally get to see if this housing message trick works. This new housing message looks like a good one. Pretty much says the same thing as the past good messages when they say to “check back later”.

For those of us who still have the bad message, don’t worry. @Savannah is right. A lot of applicants are notified the last batch. I mentioned in my speculation of the housing message before, it’s still the second batch so do not think it is already a rejection. The only thing you should be upset about is the fact that we have to wait till the 18th…

@ocnative Some say their housing message hasn’t updated to the new one.

The one that says your admission status prevents you from applying for housing. I forget the exact wording.

This is the good one: “The Housing Office currently does not have updated information on your Admission Status and therefore cannot accept a housing application today. You may come back to this link once Admissions has communicated their decision on your application to UC San Diego. You can check this by logging in at myapplication.ucsd.edu.”

It could be different this year, but last year everyone who got in (that I noticed) had this message.

I also want to add that I’m considered an out-of-state transfer from a four-year university, so I’m on the bottom of the transfer totem pole.

Did anyone call the admissions office yet? I’ll call when class is over

Once y’all get your acceptance which Im sure you will join the Facebook transfer page UCSD Transfer Students Fall 2014. Get all info on UCSD and housing. I will be an RA at the Village West Tower 1 Beach view. You can add me on Facebook as well. Abdulai Turay.

Mine didn’t change either. Yay for getting rejected most likely. Crap. Well at least this means a new batch is coming.

mine didn’t change 3.91 pols no tag

@Chitosiri‌ I was skeptical too, but I asked a UCSD rep who came to my CC and she said it’s true for the majority of applicants. They do occasionally skim personal statements if you have a large gap in your academic history and they want to be sure you didn’t attend school during that time and leave it off your application. For normal applicants they don’t bother.

I should probably add that she also told me they sometimes read College Confidential and laugh because none of us knows what we’re talking about haha. I think there are some sometimes some crazy ideas on here (I’m looking at you, housing obsessed people), but it’s the best we’ve got! This forum has been super helpful for me throughout the whole process!

Were a majority of us who got the “good” housing message TAG applicants?

I’m not a TAG applicant, and I got it.
