Is this housing message an email? I don’t know where everyone is getting this message? I don’t have one.

Jihwang ///// you mean that one person from 2011 and another person from 2012 had their message reverted back to the original message?? and those two people didn’t get the admission ?

Come home to find 122 new messages in the topic thinking a new batch came out, end up getting disappointed with every single post being about the housing message.

@NewGen

Yeah that’s what it seems like, he said 100% got in except those two. I think I also read that the housing message was different in '11 and '12 so who knows.

@transfer14ptl

Yes, last year it seems like the housing message changed in batches as well.

If you have not finished your IGETC does that mean you won’t get in?

My housing message changed to
“The Housing Office currently does not have updated information on your Admission Status and therefore cannot accept a housing application today. You may come back to this link once Admissions has communicated their decision on your application to UC San Diego. You can check this by logging in at myapplication.ucsd.edu.”

I really can’t say when the housing message changed because this is the first time I’ve checked since the first batch was released. I just wanted to add that I called in about a month ago after the first batch and spoke with admissions at UCSD. They told me that majority of decisions were going to be posted around the second week of April. They added that only a small percentage of transfer applicants were accepted during the first batch. I spoke with my counselor at my CC and she told me that the set date for decisions is on the 18th. I’m not exactly sure how accurate that is though.

I applied as a Communications major 3.57 GPA and no TAG.

Man this thread is just ridiculous. I see over a hundred new comments posted and they are all about this stupid housing crap. This is kind of sad honestly.

Mine changed as well! Hope this is good news!! Applied as a history major with TAG but going to change to comp science don’t get ur hopes up if yours didn’t change!

and anybody knows what this “Financial Trick” is ???

I am not entirely sure why they would reject anyone who has abided by their TAG agreement. If you have met the minimum GPA requirements and finished IGETC, and you haven’t applied to an impacted major, what could they logically ‘reject’ you for? It’s called guarantee for a reason right?

@dopecheez @smltk1505h Seriously… People need to let this housing message thing go because even if it might indicate something, YOU WON’T KNOW FOR SURE UNTIL THE DECISIONS ACTUALLY COME OUT.

Hey, come on guys. Let people speculate. It’s part of the fun, right?

For those people who don’t know how to check… Sign in to admissions and click the too where it says “housing” and then click undergrad housing. Something like that. Trying to go off my memory on this.

You’re wasting your time and only making it more tedious for future applicants to read through the topic.

Top*

Speculation is fine, but 100+ messages of “My housing message (didn’t) change(d)!” is ridiculous and only makes more people anxious. You just created a ■■■■■■■■ of clutter over a matter that has been discussed a hundred times over, and which still holds no real basis. All it likely means is that your application has been reviewed, but what does that really change? Nothing.

^Yes, I definitely agree. The housing message thing is blowing up. But I would also like to add that we are not wasting time. We are trying to express our worries and concern. We are hoping to find comfort in one another. Plus, it isn’t that hard to skip a few pages to get the gist of what the forum posts are saying. Also, to me at least, it doesn’t make any sense to stop posting for the sake of causing trouble to “FUTURE applicants.” What about our current, more immediate futures?

Everyone calm down! Let the people comment. Ain’t nobody got time to worry about next years applicants and their future struggle to surf a webpage.

Anavera, why don’t you just leave the thread? It’s that easy.

I said it once, I’ll say it again. The homo sapien is hard-wired to speculate and try to find meaning in patterns. This is part of what has been revealed in neuroscience. Carry on.
