Except. Clothes.

I think a major plus of going to a school like Yale is the opportunity to network with people who are going to eventually do something with their lives. You never know when you’ll need to call on your friend, Mr. Future President, hahaha. It’s selfish to think that way, but seriously, it’s true.

If you feel like you love Yale too much, just keep repeating “George Bush went to Yale” over and over again and I think you’ll be fine.

George Bush went to Yale George Bush went to Yale George Bush went to Yale George Bush went to Yale George Bush went to Yale George Bush went to Yale

It’s sobering.

Portugueseninja: Would you be an Eli Whitney applicant?

haha, so true, so true!

hahahahahahahhaha.
go to wikipedia harvard1009, yale has plenty more than george bush…

solittletime–I KNOOOW. I had nooo idea I would have so much in common with yall!

I think itsbeenreal made the group invisible like people wanted. Because when I look at all my groups, it doesnt show up anymore. the only way I can get to it is type it in my search thing. And it shows up for me…but only because I’m in the group already.

Just pasting the link again, in case it decides to work? haha

almostcrimes-- Try explaining all the opportunities you get with a place like Yale. There are so many resources available and yes, the professors at the state univ might be great too but there’s a reason why so many of the professors at Yale and similar places are Nobel Prize winners and whatnot. They have REALLY gone above and beyond in their subject. Not only that, the people you interact with at Yale are gonna be totally different from those at state univ…EVERYONE at Yale is gonna be really talented at something…otherwise they wouldn’t have gotten in. And they’re all going to be extremely motivated. State universities simply have a cutoff score for instate students so you definitely get a wiiiide variety of students. And it’s not just about connections (even though that’s a great plus, I must admit) but I think the environment and the people there will help YOU learn and explore your interests more. Discussions at my high schools are sometimes ok (but most of the time, the arguments are just really weak and it’s only like 2 people arguing or after 2 seconds people are just like “oh whatever”). I feel like having a discussion at Yale with people who really care would be out of this world and would offer a lot of insight.

Just why I want to attend places like Yale I work best when I’m challenged and around others who are motivated. Give me an easy class and I’ll just “get by” without really learning anything…and as nerdy as it’s gonna sound, I really want to learn. New information in general just tends to fascinate me.

Not that state univ are bad! Totally not my point but I would LOVE the opportunity to go to Yale (or a similar institution) ya know?

rocker–hahahah goood idea about George Bush. And yeah, we totally don’t talk about clothes. at all. =P

Whenever I get too attached to Yale, I just tell myself to not get my hopes up too high because look what happened to Blair. hahhaha :)

Yale has Meryl Streep. haha just sayin.

There have been quite a few “great minds” who went to Yale too. Gibbs (can’t remember his first name), the chemist and thermodynamicist (think Gibbs Free Energy); Francis Collins, the director of the Human Genome Project; Briton Hadden and Henry Luce, co-founders of Time Magazine; Jonathan Dickinson and Eleazer Wheelock, the founders of Princeton and Dartmouth, respectively; Bill Clinton and William Taft, presidents of the US; a bunch of vice presidents of the US; a bunch of senators, governors, and representatives, including Hillary Clinton. All Yale alumni. There are many more: [List of Yale University people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“List of Yale University people - Wikipedia”>List of Yale University people - Wikipedia)

Yeah, tell me about it. I was watching a video of a literature class at Yale (you can watch a bunch of videos like this [here](http://oyc.yale.edu/)) and the class was discussing Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, which I’m currently reading. The people were actually contributing and the discussion was intellectually stimulating. Which never happens at my high school.

ahh smile, u have GOT to stop reading my mind!!
i ALWAYS think if blair when i get too attatched…although i don’t plan on having a ***** fight with a best friend at the dean’s house, or ruining a teacher’s career anytime soon…
and i was just thinking meryl streep andd jodie foster =)

woah, i didn’t know CC automatically did that, the asteriks were just “a female dog” lol…

Smile614, that is exactly how I feel. I feel like that is one of the unique things about Yale, and it would be so cool to go to classes where you can actually have intellectual discussions and work out your own thoughts rather than have a teacher tell you what to think.
I still can’t get on the fb group though, hopefully I can get on it soon. I just can’t find it (that link redirects me to the homepage)

If it’s a secret group it won’t come up by searching for it, I think we’ll have to be invited?

Someone PM me with your name and I’ll add you?

ahhh yall are on this so much!

i absolutely LOVE the olsen twins, i watched so little time like every day and then i think the show was cancelled and i was sooo bummed. i still watch Full House like every day though. and loooooved the youre invited to a sleepover one haahha

crimes guy- like what smile said! yale offers so many more opportunities, the professors are ALL amazing, and why not try for the best? I know how you feel though, my parents reeeeeally want me to go to UNC, which is an amazing state college, but Yale would be even better, even though more expensive. I hope everything works out!

portuguese girl- you are my hero that is awesome about your songs! keep it up.
And please dont feel left out, we love you hehe

rocker- thanks for the interview advice a few pages back, I will reread that before I leave tomorrow morning!!!

My plan is to wake up 2 hours before my interview, do some Zumba alone in the room with my ipod (to pump the blood to my head:)) and then i have the interview at 9! I should probably go to bed now, since I have to wake up early tomorrow. I am excited! THanks sooo much everyone for all the good luck vibes :D

Guys, So Little Time and I were attached at the hip for an entire summer. All I did in the mornings was watch So Little Time reruns on ABCFamily…no biggie. And Passport to Paris! MA FAVE. But in retrospect, what 13 year-olds go to Paris for a week and end up with Parisian boyfriends?! THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN.

I made the group secret because someone requested it, but I just made it un-secret (like 5 minutes ago) because I don’t want people not to be able to find it. If people are worried about other’s seeing things, the only things they can see right now are the members and the description, which says nothing about Yale or CC so I think you all are fine!

Aww, thanks for that blush I love y’all as well. BIG YALE HUUUUUG!!

And wishing you MAJOR LUCK for tomorrow!! We’ll be thinking of you!

I’m up early as well, in about 5 hours. So much for being packed and in bed by 12… looks at clock turning to 1am I’m off to a music festival this weekend. RAWK!

Oh, and portuguese, do you have any digital files of your music? As in, would you like to share them with us Alt. rock is my favorite genre of music.

I just requested to join!

Yeah sure, I don’t think this will allow me to put a link to myspace will it? It’s funny about links… but if you google “the ventura project” the myspace will come up That’s my music. The song that’s on there is being released as a single on August 17th

And i’d say it’s definitely more pop than rock, a lot of people have said I sound a bit like Lily Allen.

hooollly crap
that last few posts: 4:50 4:58 5:01 5:01 5:02

emilyyy -AHHHH i LOVED passport to paris, and no that doesnt happen (SO UNFAIR) but i try to live vicariously, a girl can dream…
oh em gee, i vote if we magically all get into yale, OLSEN TWINS MARATHON, starting from full house!! they don’t do much now but i do love all the boho chic stuff they wear (haha clothes didn’t come up for… kind of a while… sorry to the guys)

portugueseninja - wow, so for 4 years you just toured, saw the world, made music,… that sounds so amazingg i’m sooo jealous =P i write songs occasionally and my friends and i have jamming sessions, and i perform sometimes at cafes and school events, but that’s about it. i would love to be able to pursue it more. if you have the time, i would love it if you could give any advice or just a rundown of things u kinda learned from your experience so far

yay! so melody, ninja, chair - who else before the thread can start?

ahhhh portugueseninja that’s sooo amazing. I’ll gonna go listen to it. I can’t believe you’re releasing a single soon! cooool.

Haha you guys are great! Big Yale hug for suuure! I’m glad my reasons for applying to all these top universities aren’t like completely insane. I really love a good discussion…and hah, it’s quite rare in my school. I mean, yeah, I don’t mind discussions on every single movie ever released or where everyone got their clothes but it would be nice to have some intelligent discussions once in a while!

I KNOW i looove those MK&A movies but really? They meet a cute boy in EVERY SINGLE MOVIE and there’s always a happy ending hahah! Dude, I still watch Full House too…almost every single morning. It makes me sad that I can’t watch Full House before school every morning…but then I resort to Sabrina the Teenage Witch. hahah. and then once in a while, I feel bad about not knowing enough about what’s going on in the world and I watch the news.

emily–What’s Zumba?? Something like yoga or pilates? Never heard of it before…
and I’m applying to UNC too! I have a friend there and I went to visit Duke and UNC a couple years back and liked both of them

listening to heroes now!!

hahaha we posted at the SAME TIME solittletime. haha just thought that was cool.

I loved passport to paris, but also the one in london?
and the one where they’re twins but one was in an orphanage and the other was all rich…and they discovered each other and were like “OMG you’re me! and i’m you!” haha. so cute.
