hahahhahaha I can just imagine rocker’s face when he watched gilmore girls. it’s pretty confusing if you just watch a random episode =] especially if you’re missing out on all the Lorelai relationships and don’t know who she’s with and all that. haha.

I worked on my essays today in the beauuutiful sun and actually got some stuff done!! Now, if I can only continue this everyday…haha
But yes itsbeenreal–I plan to have an essay or two done by end of next week. and hopefully it won’t be unbearable to read hahah it’s definitely a work in progress. But I’m quite pleased with what I came up with today!!
and yeah, rocker I totally rewrite everything like a million times. But I usually do the whole scratch this out, and then scratch it out again so my paper is filled with like 4 sentences and a bunch of scratch-outs.

A GOSSIP GIRL CLUB??? AHHHHHHHHHH. THAT IS SO COOOOL.
totally jealous of your visit! i fell in love even more just by READING your post!!
admissions process is sure intense. apparently, a regional admissions person reads your app first (and he/she’ll probably be familiar with your school and stuff) and if it gets past him/her, he/she presents it to the actual admissions committee and they go over each application?

I’m sure you did great on your interview but sometimes it really does depend on the interviewer but glad you guys had a conversation (believe me, i’m sure it could’ve been way worse like my friend who got stuck with this 90 year man haha. they had noooothing in common let’s just say).

emily–hmmm it might be the other way around haha :)

itsbeenreal-we totally just posted at the same time.

and hahah not applying to tufts but LOVE those application questions!!

yall, i’m actually having a really good time with that last short take for yale. hahah. i’ve come up with sooo many ideas and asked my parents and some friends last night and it was the funniest thing hearing all the responses.

Aw Emily that sounds great! Especially the Ashley’s ice cream and the gossip girl club part, lol! Hmm good question about posting the photo, CC doesn’t like outside links. If you really want to, I guess facebook would be the answer?
Ahhhh do you know which tour guide you had? I went with this guy named Greg and he was soo adorable and friendly and easygoing!

Haha Smile, I’m going to go with itsbeenreal, I could never get much work done on a sunny day!

hahah yeah I want to see Ashley’s ice cream place!!
demi–you’ve been to yale too??? ahhhh so jealous of yall.
well, the weather has to be sunny and bright or pouring down rain for me to write. if it’s like a “normal” day, I can never get anything down on paper. haha and usually on a sunny day I write all these quirky optimistic stuff like…“look what the future beholds!” haha and on a rainy day, I tend to reflect on past experiences…so it’s good to have a combination of both.

emilyyy - omg i was on the edge of bursting when i was reading your post! gaahhhhhh, why oh why does yale have to be so perfect, and the gossip girl club was just the cherry on top

i saw yale, just did a quick campus tour+info session. i went on a rainy day but even so it was still sooo amaziggg

ahh, i’ve been so insanely busy lately i won’t be able to get any work done on my essays for a while. at least i have all my short takes done! itsbeenreal - haha thnx sorry about that - badLY, your just like my english teacher haha, but i’m sure your a great editor, i’ll send my supplmentary essay asap, i dunno why but i’m doing that first.

smile - ya i just finished reading your long long loooonnggg message haha, i’ll reply later, probably with an essay about prom dresses as well =D

and rocker - yay!! the thought of you watching gilmore girls made me very very very happy :)

and can anyone send me the link of the 2013 class when they talk about their short takes, i can’t find it

lets try the thread soon, there are things i wanna say and i’d feel more comfortable saying if it wasn’t open for everyone to read, just cuz i might be kind of easily identifyable and i kno several people from my school who are also SCEA that lurk this site and esp. the yale part like crazy

I can only write late at night. My best stuff was always finished past 3AM.

My party was pretty normal, haha. Nothing special really, just a thing at my friend’s house. I got to see a bunch of people I haven’t seen in forever so it was fun.

Question: Do you guys drink/smoke (anything illicit)? I’m asking just out of curiosity, because drugs are preeeetty prevalent at my school, and drinking is even worse.

I’m soooo jealous of all of you who got to actually visit Yale. Nooot fair. I wish I could go. I’d probably like, tie myself to a tree in front of the admissions office and beg.

No one from my school is even applying anywhere in the US. I feel so safe.

I’m not sure of the exact process, but I know for a fact that there are regional admissions officer. They each do a few states in the US. I know, for example, that there’s only one admissions officer for Canada. It would only make sense that a committee comprising all of the officers would make the final decisions, or else the process would rely too heavily on silly whims.

Haha sorrryyyy. I’m just so used to people not knowing anything when it comes to the whole college process. But this is CC, after all…

I feel like I have a neverending amount of things to say in each post. It sucks.

^Lol I think best at night but not THAT late!
Hmm you should hide yourself in a suitcase and fly over for free before sneaking into a Yale dorm lol :]

Smile, I live about 15-20 minutes from New Haven! Fun fun. And there is even an Ashley’s ice cream in my town! It’s brighter and more open than the Yale one. Life is sweet
Emily I should have thought of going to meet you when you visited :(

Drugs are pretty prevalent, but drinking is worse at my school too! Buuut during bio, my teacher would just smell smoke and run to the window and yell down to whoever was down there to scram haha. Not to make my school sound really run-down and stuff. It’s kind of amusing.
Lots of kids drink though. Of course, I don’t touch any illegal business but my parents are pretty easygoing with me about tasting wines, cocktails, and the occasional lager (example: Bar in New Haven brews their own specialty beer so it’s worth a sip! P.S. Besides Ashley’s, we should get Bar pizza :D). And I’m really into good food and drink so it’s not an OMG!-kind of deal
I’m a good girl :]

o yeah i tried not to think that rainy weather was bad luck… it made the atmosphere a little less bright and cherry but it was still amazing- and thats sayin a lot! haha
no i had JOHN! he was laid back too yaaay :)

it’s been real, that is very cool that you want to into neurobiology. I think it’s really fascinating stuff, but I’m also really interested in the international studies major…Hmm. I would probably do the MCDB and minor in International Studies if possible. I wish I could go to visit Yale too. It’s tough being on the other side of the country…
Lol, sorry for stealing your victory rockermcr , maybe we can have another competition for who notices when the Yale supplement goes up on the common app and you can try to win that one.
I feel like I haven’t been on CC that much since now the Yale supplement is up and now I have to buckle down and finish my essays (I’m 3/4 of the way done!)

rocker - wel, you know the city i live in…so ya, pot is pretty much everywhere, its almost unacknowledged, we do have the some of the best marijuana plants in the world so its understandable. so ya lots of people do it, a lot of my friends do it, no party won’t have it. and then there are the kids who hate that they’re from a rich neighborhood and are being all kurt cobain etc n stuff and doing cocaine, mushrooms, acid, etc. i don’t personally know anyone who has gone as far as meth and heroin tho. i try to stay away from it, do drink though…

ok this is a question from a friend who doesnt have a cc account asked me to do this:
hey super smart people!! so i’m thinking about doing a theater studies major. a large part of this is because ever since i auditioned and got an agent and my dad found out that i actually take acting seriously, he literally forbid me to every do it again! do clubs, productions, classes, anything. it is still a huge passion of mine and i’m hoping to pursue it in college where he won’t be around. but if i put that as my intended major and they see that i havent done much in it due to those reasons, could it work agains me? any advice would be much much appreciated

solittletime here again - anyone else finding the “why yale” space is not neeaaaaaaaaarly enough??

^Omg I love theatre! Your friend should totally mention it in an essay or short answer to explain! I read somewhere that basically one goal of your appplcation is that if you think that adcoms might ask a certain question or need an explanation for something about you, somewhere in your app you should address it! I hope I helped =/

Oooh Solittletime, the Why Yale definitely does not have enough space! D:

rocker–I totally know what you mean. I always feel like I’m writing too much haha because I just keep going on and on and on. so yall tell me if I’m blabbering k? :)

heyyyyy i totally want to major in International Studies too! Not sure yet. I like sooo many things. LOVE the idea of ethics, economics and politics. and I really want to take some classes in psychology and sociology. and I want to continue my spanish. and I’m also really interested in history and law and stuff. haha the list just gooooes on.

melody-what’s MCDB??

about drugs/drinking. Drugs not that prevalent. You know people do it and you can usually tell. It’s usually like a few groups and they all hang out together. A lot more people smoke cigarettes than I thought but probably not as common as in yalls schools. We’re a little town, not that much crazy wild stuff. Drinking is the most common…again, not as much as in big cities or anything.
I don’t do drugs or cigarettes…that totally grosses me out (remember I’m pretty much a girly girl haha and I hate hate hate the smoke). And I don’t drink either haha but not because I have anything against it! I just hate beer (which is what most ppl drink here if they want to party hard haha)…I don’t get why people like the stuff but that’s totally just me. Love the occasional champagne but other than that, I don’t drink just because I’ve never really wanted to. Wouldn’t mind a margarita or stuff like that but I’m definitely not a beer person.

ahh i def. agree with not having enough space haha I need to cut my essay down by like 100 words. how in the WORLD am i going to do that? hahah.
Actually, I never have enough space on any of the questions. 25 words or fewer for the short takes? COME ONNNN. hahah. I have a feeling I’m going to be doing a lot more cutting down than adding on when it comes time to edit essays…

rocker…we’re like the same person! I work best around 2 or 3 am as well! 12-1 is when I get tired and think “Why am I doing this???” then past 1 my energy comes wooshing back and I’m good to go until around 4, which is when I crash. We’re talkin’ textbook equals pillow kind of crashing ;)

I’ve actually been to visit Yale twice The first time was just because I couldn’t wait to see it any longer, it was during sophomore year (so Spring '07) and during BDD (30 foot tall bulldog anyone?!) and it was the most magical thing I’ve ever seen. The second time was for a conference and I almost cried that I had to go back because I could so easily slide into the false reality that I was already a student there and was coming back after a break. I mean, things were actually familiar to me and I remembered where everything was! Which made it even harder for me to snap out of the fact that I’ve only really been there twice and neither was for the reason that I actually go there.

I think they purposefully only put really attractive guys as tour guides because both times that I went on a tour that’s what happened. BOTH TIMES. And it makes you want to go there more ;)

Okay, so I officially also agree that I feel like my posts on here are WAY too long
Can we please segue to facebook because I agree, there are things I really want to say, but I don’t want people from my school to recognize me.

“Why is Yale on the list of colleges to which you are applying? Well, I like totally love all the like hot like guys who like lead all of the like tours of like the campus!!!”

@Smile614, MCDB is Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. It looks really cool and you can concentrate on biotechnology, neuroscience, etc. Picking majors for me is like being a kid in a candy shop, so many great choices @Rockermcr, hahahaha @Harvard1009, that is really cool and great for you. I think if he knows you well and can say a lot about you, the rec could be a great asset.
