2014 Spring Transfer Thread

Mine isn’t even close either and they know this. Did you meet this counselor in person or talk over the phone? Still wondering if this form shows up on your status page?

I have found some of the counselors don’t do this stuff often, but when they ask the ones who handle it, the answer has always come back to wait until you are rejected before contacting them to do it. More power to you if they aren’t making you wait and now I feel like I might be making yet another call to the admissions office. I’m sure they have their reasons, but I KNOW I’m going to need Fresh Start, so it is weird I can’t do it yet.

How long ago did all of this happen? Wondering if someone just didn’t know any better and sent you the form; this is why I’m curious if it shows up on your status page and how long ago it was. If you happen to have the counselor’s name, I’d appreciate it in a PM.

Sorry, meant to answer that part.

Yes, it shows up on the documents part of the status page with resume, transcripts, and all the other stuff.

I talked to a counselor over the phone.

No idea why they are making you wait if you aren’t even close. No one even suggested I wait to see if I would be rejected.

Yeah this is just weird. Guess I’m calling again tomorrow.

Good luck, maybe mention you heard there is a fresh start agreement/contract that you can already fill out and would like to do so.

I’m doing fresh start too but I guess I’m a tad behind you guys. I had no idea you have to get rejected first or have to fill out a form. I’ll be talking to my counselor again tomorrow.

Thanks for the info!

I posted this before but I didn’t get a response. And I’m confused amidst what’s been going on here lately:

Wait, I’m supposed to wait until this semester is over to submit my transcript? My school was telling me to turn it in now and that UT will automatically check for newly completed classes this semester, is that true?

Also I was thinking of talking to my school Tuesday if they don’t have my transcript showing up on MyStatus by then. (10 days since I submitted it). And then give them a few more days and call UT. Good idea?

Hope this help if you haven’t read yet. [College & University Transcripts | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/transfer/admission/transcripts)

First,
“To complete your application for transfer admission, you must submit transcripts from all colleges/universities in which you have enrolled in coursework.”

I think you have to send your current transcript which show the courses you completed and the ones you are taking.

and,

“Work at your current institution
Submit transcripts showing any and all work that you have completed or will complete at your current college or university by the UT Austin application deadline, even if you are still enrolled in courses there.
If you are enrolled in courses at the time of the deadline, submit an updated transcript from your current college or university as soon as your grades are posted for this additional coursework.”

I’m so anxious to find out whether I’ve been admitted. I keep peeking at MyStatus even though I know they usually take 2-3 weeks to decide.

Does UT do rolling admissions for transfers?

Hey I currently applied for transfer from UH. I have a 3.31 gpa right now and my major is bio.

1st choice: bio
2nd choice: public health

Should I change my 2nd choice to UGS for a better chance or just let it be? It says my appl is currently in review so idk if I should change majors at this point.

Y’all’s input will be much appreciated!

I also have 3 letters of recommendation and ok essays with ok resume.

You can change the second major, it just might prolongue the decision process of your acceptance.

Hey all I’m new to this thread and I have applied as well:)

I applied to CNS: 1st - Physics, 2nd Mathematics

 • Transferring from University of Texas at Brownsville.
 • 3.588 GPA
 • Texas resident.
 • As for courses related to my major, I have an A for college alg, pre cal, cal I, cal II, chem I and for chem II a B+. I’m taking university physics I, cal III.
 • 51 transferable credits.
 • 1 rec letter.
 • Pretty good resume, about 100 hours of community service, work experience, a lot of sports and in high school I won 1st place in state competition for SkillsUSA architectural drafting.
 • 2 strong essays - to the point and concise.

What do you all think? :)

Is it true people have already been accepted?

Dee,

If you see this, can you please refer back to my “chance me” type post on the bottom of page 18 and give me some feedback. I have a good idea what you’re going to tell me because I’ve heard it from other people, but an extra opinion is always helpful.

Thanks a bunch.

Can we start applying for housing?

They say you should apply for housing after you complete your applyTexas. I have already applied for housing, even I don’t know if I can be admitted.

Alright thanks!

Wow, this is a little discouraging. I took another look at UT’s transfer stats in this link.
[12th Class Day Enrollment Reports | Office of Information Management & Analysis](http://www.utexas.edu/academic/ima/enrolreport)

I knew the number of Fall transfer admits was higher than Spring, but I didn’t expect there would to be this much difference (2,442 to 824 in 2011).
Not as bad for Texas junior colleges, 803 to 446, but still cause for concern.
(Texas senior college difference was 1,074 to 159!)

thanhnguyncs: How do you apply for housing? Just the payment off the link from mystatus?

I keep checking mystatus too. It’ll be about 2-3 weeks now? UT sent me a cruel email that said “You’re in!” for the subject and in the email so I told everyone I got accepted then I read the email and it was about Be A Longhorn. Sooo now I better get accepted xD Has anyone heard anything back yet?

haha. It’s funny, sufjanlover1.

You can read more information I said here: [Housing Application | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/freshmen/housing/application)

And the direct link to apply: <a href=“Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request”>Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request;

you have to sign in, and there will be a link for you to apply on the left column.

Still waiting. Does anyone know about the honors? Can transfer applicant apply for them? When? and does it require anything to be admitted after getting admitted from UT admission (of course)?

Think somebody could chance me?
I’m applying from the University of Houston(honors college) to BA Psychology
GPA: At my current Uni, 3.74, BUT cumulative (from current and previous university (i already transferred once)):3.52…
Two pretty good essays

Please and thankyou!
