bdimes, I’m just going to keep praying! Keep us posted!

They usually work on certain majors at a time, not necessarily based on the college. My friend and I got accepted into PR at exactly the same time, and we had high GPAs. The longer it takes for you to hear back is where you fall in the acceptance stack. Most denials quick so don’t lose hope!!!

I am still just curious why my application went from “under review” back to “completed” but there is no decision.

I haven’t heard of this happening to anyone else.

My first choice is BS Nutrition and second choice being BS Public Health. To be honest, glad to see none of the CNS prospectives get admitted yet coz I’d worry a heck lot then haha. I hope we get our decisions by tomorrow or soon!

Oh and congratulations to all those that got it :D

Anybody get their decision today?
Gosh, the wait is killing me.

@DeeGeeErBear

So are you saying the longer it takes to hear back the more likely it is you got accepted?

This is my second time applying and I knew the first time I did, I got denied pretty quickly :P

Well I haven’t heard anything. This is torture. Lol.

@cs5569 I’m in the same boat. I feel like I got denied like the second they started giving out decisions last time around, but as a Gov’t and French applicant, it says my application is still in review. Not sure if it’s a good sign or bad sign but it’s certainly better than getting rejected right off the bat I guess! DeeGeeErbear gave me some slight hope there, but does anyone else know what to make of that?

Also, does anyone know if they do spring waitlists or anything?

Hello! I was wondering if there are any females that are loooking for a roommate?
I would need one!

I guess I should post on here since I’ve been stalking this thread for like a month now

3.44(3.43 or somethin like that)
Currently at unt
First school :COLA
Second choice UGS
3 letters of Rec
2 solid essays
Loads of work experience

AND…I haven’t heard back either…apparently checking it 737392637 times a day dosent help either

Note* applied in high school and was offered cap so I went to ut Arlington but didn’t qualify for transfer because I got a d in a class and that out me bellow 30 hours and I didn’t like the school so I transferred…will this hurt my chances? And I have an upward trend of 3.8 last semester 4.0 in the summer and I’m trending at like a 3.75 this semster

@Youremyboyblue

You and me literrally have the exact same situation, I too went to UTA as a CAP, but for me I had a family member pass away and I left school for about 3.5 weeks during midterms which really costed me in terms of grades, finished with a 3.1 and missed UT from not reaching the GPA requirement.

Now I’m on track to a 3.8-4.0 this semester!

I applied to COLA and UGS for spring as well!

Haha - I’ve been lurking too. I applied to COLA - Anthropology too (Applied to CNS Biology as a second choice), and haven’t yet heard anything. Congrats to those who have - I hope to join you soon!

So, hi! Here are my stats:
3.75, SAT in the 1360’s (I took it in 1988 with a bunch of other exchange students in NZ, so it was just verbal and math, and I did slightly better in Math than Verbal, but I don’t remember the exact number anymore). Foreign exchange to New Zealand, 1988 (as mentioned), top 10%. I have hours from Austin College in Sherman from the 1990’s (art school dropout sigh – still paying for it, but the hours that really count are the ones I got at ACC recently).

Extensive work history, lots of “trials of life” adventure, economic hardship, tenacity, letter from my former boss (My boss knows me better than my professors at ACC, though I loved the lot of 'em). Returned to school while raising my four kids, so considered “non-traditional.” Honors program at ACC.

Checked my status roughly 86,000 times since I turned everything in. The suspense is killing me.

@Laurelpo

Hello fellow anthro applicant! I am somewhat glad to see your post as it reaffirms that they are going by department rather than by whole schools at a time. You seem like a shoe-in with your stats. I’m just on the bubble and am sweating it out. Hope we find out soon. And definitely hope it doesn’t get dragged out all weekend…

So there’s only like 45 mins left in the work week so I guess we won’t know till next week? …bummer
And CS: that’s weirdly awesome that we’re in the same situation

Hi Wombar!

I hope you are right. I had six hours from Lone Star from about 20 years ago that I remembered late, so even though most of my requirements were in before deadline, the Lone Star transcript made it late and they cancelled my app. I appealed, but I am worried that my appeal came off as desperate - “Oh pleasepleaseplease don’t toss me in the bin over six hours! I love you! Let me in!” is how I imagine it. Unfortunately I didn’t save a copy so I can’t verify whether or not I’m blowing it out of proportion.

I acted rashly.

Anyway, my appeal is in review, and my status is “complete/late” now.

Whatever - I’m so happy to see other anthro applicants! I hope we all get in! What kind of anthro are you into?

@laurelpo

Archaeology - Cultural Resource Management in particular. I have friends in the field.

Yourself?

Very cool. I’m leaning toward Physical Anthropology, but I have an interest in cultural as well - specifically in regards to ethics, labor issues, ways that we effect the environment, inventiveness, globalization. Not sure how to integrate all that - just planning to keep my eyes and ears open and go where it leads I guess. The graduate school has an activist anthro program, and that really appeals to me, but I have to jump the UG hurdle first.

Sooo, I got into it for archaeology initially, but I kind of want to study everything now :).

Nice. There are some really interesting looking anthro classes being offered at UT right now. I’m really looking forward to some, if I get in. Most of my family and friends still make the assumption that I am going to be digging up dinosaur bones, running from giant boulders, and fighting nazis, lol.

Well anyway, good luck. I will be posting my admittance or rejection, either way, whenever it happens.

I’m applying for anthro as well with an interest in physical :)

Hi Adangerousthing! Much luck - maybe if we all emerge from the waiting thing alive we’ll have classes together.

Wombar - lol, exactly! I really love paleontology and Indy too (blink blink), but when I explain to my family that my thing is different, they totally lose interest. Someone needs to make an exciting movie about CRM, osteology, and cultural issues regarding labor practices so my parents can get all excited about it when they talk to their friends.
