2014 Spring Transfer Thread

@llama123 I might need one (or multiple roommates)! I’m trying to find apartments doing individual lease stuff :l and honestly, Austin is so expensive :(

Yeah, that’s why I was hoping to find at least like four people here saying yes aha it’s cheaper with more people.

I’ve actually already asked some brown people at UT and if I can’t find anybody, I will let you know! :)

Hey. for those guys out there who have been accepted and are looking for housing, theres this really cool, big attic that has been made into a room that somebody is subletting for the spring semester. it’s $560 a month plus 60$ for utilities and it’s SUPER CLOSE TO CAMPUS. Like walking distance or a two minute shuttle ride. So if you were to split that big room with somebody…that’d be a great deal. If you’re interested, let me know!

count me in on the roommate scouting! unfortunately i won’t know until dec/jan but i’m already looking at options

@fishfishfish i’d love some details!

For all you looking for housing, there’s a few student apartment complexes off of riverside that’s pretty inexpensive. I just moved out of one called university estates and it was okay… Nice apartment but I didn’t like living with the room mates I had, that’s my only complaint. Plus, I was at my boyfriend’s all the time so we just ended up moving in together. Just stay away from the zone at the corner of crossing place and riverside. Outdated apartments that need repairs constantly and a shady management team that doesn’t keep up with the numerous required maintenance requests.
If all else fails, I’ve had some good luck with craigslist, you just gotta be careful of the people you live with and the neighborhood!

I think we should make a facebook group to help each other out with the process and everything, no?

I really hope we hear back from admissions today.

Likewise. I don’t expect to get in but I just need closure so I’m not checking my status all the time D:

Don’t loose hope ceranium. And yes I need some closure too, I’ve been checking my status like 60 times a day.

Okay so, I found a roommate and we are looking to find more roommates because it’s cheaper. We will be living on West Campus. If we can’t find more people, we are planning on doing random rooming meaning that my roommate and I will share a room but they will have other random people living with us but in the other rooms.

If anyone wants to be our roommate(s) let me know! :slight_smile:
Females only!

@llama123 I am looking for roommates! I am a female and soph. I agree we should make a Facebook page for us all

@UTDreamer

I’m going to PM you and tell you my name and stuff. Add/message me on facebook. :)

I’m a soph as well!

Multiple roommates in the FAR WEST area is very affordable, FYI

I was looking at University Village. Does anyone know anything about that place?

Idk if we are going to hear back today, it’s 1:30 right now. What’s taking them so long? They gave out some on Thursday and then nothing on Friday and nothing so far today. This is so frustrating…

I just called the lady told me to call if I dont hear back by Thursday…

Geez Thursday

Dang it! Lol I’m tired of this waiting game.

Still waiting…:expressionless:

If I do get accepted, what good options are there at West Campus? More than half the properties have bad management issues so it’s going to be really hard to find a good one since the admissions is taking so much time… and the dorms are way over priced.
