Bobcat20, does that mean that the students that don’t have their 30 hours don’t get in? If students get their 30 hours in before the January 6th deadline, are they more likely to get in because it’s a smaller pool of applicants?

Sekrim, no not at all! If anything this works in everyone’s benefit for people who have GPAs ranging 3.3-3.5, because of course, less applicants results into less competition of course, but i know that the evaluators will save spots for people who don’t have 30 hours until december 21st, but what I was saying was that people apply with less than 30 hours anticipating that they’ll get a 4.0 but end up getting like a 3.2, therefore they feel no need to submit their transcript because they felt discouraged… thats what I mean by a reason the people with less than 30 hours sometimes doesn’t resubmit an updated transcript. That’s pretty much the example the lady gave me which makes total sense. Everyone has equal opportunity. She also said last spring applicants got screwed over because they over admitted some 1,000 students so that barely admitted any external transfers that year.

Adangerousthing - I’m waiting for COLA anthro too. 30+ hours. Also waiting for CNS.

Well that’s good news! Less applicants=much greater chance of being accepted! :D

Hey guys any acceptances or denials today? My app is still under its second review… It hasn’t been denied. So I’m still happy, nervous, but happy!

well 1900 is very small. are you sure she said 1900? because the total transfer applicant for fall 2012 was around 7100 and around 3500 got admitted.

I just got off the phone with admissions and they said the same, “you’re application is still in review”. Funny thing is I asked her about the pool of applicants this year and she said it was average/typical of every year, not too large or small. She also said some acceptance/ denials have been sent out already so those of us under review can have a breath of relief. She just told me to keep checking (like I don’t already, every 5 mins lol).

Yeah I just called too. the person I talked to asked for my uteid and told me that the decision will be posted at the end of this week…

For your major(which is…) or was she talking in general?

Crew808, I just hope they do not look at how many times I check, they would be like this crazy stalker chick is waking up in the middle of the night checking!

I read on one of the UT websites the same thing, like 1,900 applicants too, the lowest since 2003.

Lol@ utnurse2b

Lol they probably think we have no lives.

Lol it can’t possibly be any more than I check my status so don’t feel bad

My major is International relation. I dont know if its specific to the major. I didnt ask

I’ve been reading this thread for a while and not gonna lie, I’m nervous for y’all. I’m not transferring until Fall 2014 and I’m dreading this part of the application process… I really hope y’all make it in!!

Didn’t they say we’ll get to know the decisions by the end of the week… last week too? I think they’ve been told by the admissions to let each applicant know it’s under review or they’ll get to know by the end of that week… so the applicants shut up and don’t call again haha. Possible and very annoying.

What does it mean if my application is “Complete” but I still haven’t heard anything? I am COLA and UGS as well…Its been complete for like a week and hasn’t gone back under review…

Did no one receive their decision today? :/

Nope, I am still under review.

Does anyone have the link about the low applicant pool.

I have a brother who goes to UT and he stopped by the admissions office today to ask about my application. They didn’t really say much except that the latest they will reply is by the end of this week. So yeah, it might be soon guys :D. Good luck!
