DeeGeeErbear, do you know what are the chances of someone being revoked admissions? I might get a C for comp II. I am hoping I can pull at least a B-

@DeeGeeErbear
Thank you so much for answering! It’s been difficult getting a straight answer from people.

This may seem like a stupid question but when you say you had a 3.8 GPA, does that mean overall school GPA or just within the Comm requirements? I’m assuming you mean overall school GPA.

What do you mean by “So if I didn’t see a certain class theres still a possibility that on the 6th they could open up another?” ?

The schedule will not change at this point. The auditoriums are reserved , their capacity has certain limits, so no new classes or sections will be open.

Waitlists will remain waitlists, they will just start moving letting people in.

Closed classes/ sections will most likely open. I believe they were closed at some point during the Fall registration to reserve seats for transfer students.

After the transfer orientation/registration some restricted classes will open for students from other majors if these classes are not completely full (as I said auditoriums have capacity limits, firemarshal restrictions etc)

Does anybody know if you need to upgrade your EID in order to find out about financial aid?

Ya ya ohh okay. Bc I searched for a pharmacology class there turned out no search results… so does that mean there’s no pharmacology classes this semester then? Thanks for your help!
Adangerousthing- You should be able to click where it said upgrade your ut eid and then should take you to the part of the site to change your password… (That part took me the longest… lol probably bc I wasnt reading the requirements in detail) Financial aide took a couple days for me but I had already put UT Austin for one of my schools when i filed last Jan. so they already my information and just beeded for me to get admitted. When I got admitted the financial aide tab read something like ‘we have received your application wait 2 weeks’ or something like that but within a day or 2 it told me it redirected me to the CASH website and then it tell you what is required to do and recommended.
Also remember to cancel your financial aide at your other college/ institution so you’ll be able to get aide at UT
I dont think financial aide has to dowith upgrading your ut eid but its required to accept admission…

How long does it take for them to make your financial aid viewable? I was admitted the week of thanksgiving and the amount of aid I get can either make or break me so I need to know ASAP.
I’ve emailed them but never got a response. I’ll probably call next week if nobody here can answer me.

Well from when I got admitted thanksgiving week as well on Monday. This past Tuesday was when I was allowed the option to be redirected to CASH financial aide site that told me what to do from there. But like I said I think it didn’t take that long bc I already had UT as one of my schools to requrst aide… it may take up to two weeks like it says on mystatus.

When you get to to CASH site you that is when you view your aide for the semester .

I don’t know where your searched. I checked nursing degree, and there is something called PHR 338 INTRODUCTION TO PHARMACOLOGY.
There is a class like this on the registrar’s page and it’s open for Spring 2014 registration.

Though if you are a student you might use something different from registrar’s page. And whatever is available for students I am not sure you can use it in full capacity yet, not until you upgrade your UT ID (it means picture taken and an actual card issued during orientation).

Okay great thank you! I will try again later today but im just glad to hear thats there’s a class open! Thanks again!

I had a 3.84 overall GPA at Texas State. With comm requirements it was about the same.

Dee,
How many hours have you take prior to UT?

Foafoa: I attended Blinn college for dual credit before Texas state, so I believe I had 33. 12 at Blinn, and and the rest from Texas state

I just took my last final. My worst case scenario GPA is a 3.66, and my best case scenario is a 3.81 GPA. Now I have to wait a week before grades can get sent out. Anyone else here need to complete their 30 hours still?

So I got a B in Government, it was 89%, like 2 points short but my professor refused to round it to an A. Which mean I cannot get a 3.8 at the end of the year no more, now I’m pulling for a 3.74 GPA. Hopefully I still stand a chance.

Does anyone know the average GPA for transfers into the College of Education?

sekrim when’s the earliest UTD can post grades, do you know? once they get posted to coursebook will the registrar have them, or do we have to wait until they’re on orion?

I took my last final on Tuesday and I’m still waiting for three more of my classes to post grades so that I can send out my transcripts also. It’s quite annoying that it’s taking so long but I’m keeping positive; hopefully those of you in the same boat are too.

@DeeGeeErbear

OMGOMGOMG! Please help me! Okay so this is my situation.

I currently attend UH
I am currently a freshmen
I want to transfer fall 2014 to UT College of NS

So right now my grades is as followed:

General Biology - A
History - (A-)
Writing I (B+)
Psych (A)
Philosophy (C!!!)

So that leaves me at a 3.4 gpa. A couple months ago I talked to the admissions office and they told me to really strive for a 3.6 to be competitive. I can get my gpa to a 3.5 with my spring grades (hopefully). Question is: Since I am applying in March to transfer Fall 2014, my spring grades would not even be available by then. So technically I have to submit my application with my 3.4 gpa (which, I feel, just dooms me) And pretend spring grades do matter, the highest I can get is a 3.54-3.58. Does that limit my chances in even getting into UTs Natural Science. Would I increase my chances if I put my first choice as UT NS Undeclared or should I be specific and declare something. And another question is since my Philosophy grade is a C (terrible terrible class) does that just destroy my chances. Philosophy has nothing to do with my major so I am hoping they would not put so much emphasis on it.

Another problem is that the General Biology I took fall 2013 (this semester) is for NONbiology majors. I just recently switched from a psych major to a bio major which means next semester (spring 2014) I am taking:

Intro to Biology 1 (lecture and lab) this is for bio majors
Calculus (lecture and lab)
Writing II
Intro to Theatre (This is like an EC or filler class or wutever u wanna call this)
Mass Media (This is like an EC or filler class or wutever u wanna call this)

So if I do really well in spring 2014 in my bio and calc classes will that increase my chances? And that question kinda goes back to the “do they even look at spring 2014 grades”?

Sorry this is so long! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANSWERING IF YOU DO! I am like super stressed right now. Especially with that C in Philosophy. It just destroyed my esteem. Going into the holidays with a not so jolly mood -.-

@baylorgal: College of Education accepts a wide range of GPAs. ~3.2 (well rounded)

@apersonnamedsam: Take a breath! Everything will be ok. I’m going to assume that you are involved at UH, and volunteer as well. Making a C on your transcript isn’t necessarily the end of the world. Plus, it isn’t a major class. You NEED to have at least B’s and mostly A’s in those kinds of classes. As for the Philosophy, my best advice to cover that up is to retake it maybe over the summer. If you make an A, that pretty much erases the C in the admission’s eyes. Next, be sure that you do well in any science related courses, even calculus. UT doesn’t take into fact that Calculus is a hard course, they just like to see good grades. You still have a year to get things together, and I’m sure it will all come together. In the meantime, go out there and be a part of clubs and organizations that will lengthen your resume! Good luck!
