2015-2016 School Year Schedule

So right now i’m a Sophomore in high school. I would say I’m on the smarter side of the group, taking all honors classes and in an advanced math, but i’m doing average in those classes.
So it’s the time when we start picking our classes for next year. My current schedule is(for next year):

AP World History (I’m in APUSH right now with a solid B)

AP Chemistry (Love chemistry, have had a solid A in honors chem)

Honors English 11 (I’ve had an A in honors english all year. AP Lang is also an option, but I dont want to overload on ap classes)

And then an AP Math, which I need help deciding on.
I can take either AP Calc (AB), AP Stats, or Trig/Prob/Stats (All put into one class). I’m in pre-calc right now, so I believe (correct me i’m wrong) trig/prob/stats is lower than pre-calc, so i’ve ruled that out. I’ve had a C in precalc all year, and had a C in algebra 2 first semester, but a B in second semester. I’m afraid that if I take AP Stats next year, i’ll forget everything and in my senior year when i’m taking calc, i’ll be screwed. I’m also afraid that if I take AP calc, I will fail the class because it seems difficult. Both of the classes are inverted, so you go home and watch a lesson, then go back to class the next day to do homework and ask questions. I really need some input on this because my schedule card is due monday.

My other question: is AP Lang hard? If it is, then i’m sticking to Honors 11, but if it’s not I will take it. I’m decent at Essays, I’ve gotten As and Bs on them in Honors 9 and 10, but it seems more rigorous in AP.

My electives are French 4 and Band. I plan on majoring in some kind of science in college, leaning more towards chem.

That B) is supposed to say “B”

You should not take AP Calc if you’re getting less than a B in precalc. With a C in Precalc, you’re better off taking AP Stats next year. NO ONE (no college) will be impressed with a kid who takes AP Calc AB and get a C+, and Calc is harder than precalc. As for Trig/prob/stats, ask your guidance counselor to know whether it’s lower or higher than precalc - I’m thinking you’re right and it’s a “light” version of Precalculus but sometimes schools name classes strangely so better safe than sorry.
Are you allowed to “drop down” a level? In that case, you should take AP Language, with the option of taking Honors 11 if that doesn’t work out.
Finally, what colleges are you thinking of?
Do you live in a State where class rank matters more than GPA and course rigor, for instance? Or do you live in a state where weighted GPA (ie.? grades + course rigor) matter more? Or are you mostly aiming at holistic-admission colleges?
