I was wondering if any of you have entered the anthem essay contest this year and received a notification of whether you’ve won or not? I entered and was wondering if they have started letting people know.

Yep, the results are out. I just got an email. Do you think they disqualify you if you don’t double space your entry?

I entered the Anthem contest too, and I have been waiting the whole day to hear back! The Student Outreach Coordinator who confirmed receipt of my essay said that everyone who entered, whether they won or not, would be notified today, so I’m pretty sure we will hear back soon. Hang in there! : )

Me too! I was thinking, ARI’s office is only open Monday- Friday, so the email might be a misprint and we might only hear back tomorrow! I hope not…
Just to keep our minds off things, which prompt did you do? I did the one about why Equality laughed when he heard why he was the Damned.
I’m hoping they’ll have them up by midnight at the latest; I’ve been checking my email pretty frequently ever since this morning…
I chose the one about why Equality was assigned to the House of Street Sweepers! I definitely don’t think I won but maybe I was a semi-finalist?
Did you have to do it for school or did you do it individually? My English teacher assigned it, but I think I would have entered it even if she hadn’t… I like writing.
For school! I agree though I actually found it pretty fun and I loved Anthem but I liked last year’s questions a lot more…
What were last year’s questions? (I just finished 8th grade so this was my first year of eligibility)

I feel like it calls for much more analysis and I would’ve enjoyed writing it so much!
Thanks for the link; I agree, it would have been an excellent topic to write on! The author did a good job, but as you said there is a lot more room for analysis.

Yeah, same here! I already waited 4 months and the suspense is killing me…
Still no email about the results… (Could this be an email issue? I was a finalist in last year’s anthem contest and never got an official email. Had to check online)

Nope. Is somebody willing to call into the office and ask? I can’t because I am at debate camp.
I just made a call to the office to ask about the emails. What they told me was that if you have not received an email yet that means that you have made it to the semi finals round. The graders for the final rounds are a couple of days behind. All participants who did not make it that far have already been notified. Although I did enter the Fountainhead contest as opposed to the Anthem essay contest, I’m sure same rules apply since I did not specify which contest I entered when I asked him about results.
