Hey so is anyone up to help make a Facebook page for the regional finalists of the Coca Cola Scholarship? It’d be cool to get to know ya’ll and see if we can meet up depending on our location for interviews
I accompanied my D to Atlanta this weekend. I was very impressed with how Coca-Cola handled the interview process. My D was greeted at the front door by name. All reps were very enthusiastic. My D said the interviewers were very friendly and relaxed. The other finalist we met there were impressive. I don’t know if she will be chosen but we walked away with a very positive experience which will only benefit my D in years to come.
My S had a Skype interview last weekend. Really wish we had been able to attend a live interview, but we couldn’t travel that day. He said the interviewers were super nice. Sadly, the connection was really poor and he just could not hear their questions. He said he tried, but had to ask “what” a lot. It made the interview a bit awkward, which is such a shame because he’s been so excited. It was just a glitch of the moment. Hind sight is 20/20. I should have been there for it in case of an issue, but…. Hope all felt great about their experience.
Thanks for sharing the interview experience. My daughter did not feel very great about the interview. She said the interviewer seems did not read her application at all, and ask random weird questions. Sometimes those interviewers looked at each other and did not know what should ask, pretty awkward.
Do you guys know how Coca Cola notice every scholar? They will call them individually? Or email? Or post the name list on their website?
@2019mom thanks for sharing. actually makes me feel better to know maybe it was a universal challenge. I do applaud Coke Scholars’ efforts to provide a personal experience, and we have done tons with Skype without issue, so this was just a glitch, I guess. These kids all put their heart and soul into this opportunity – it’s more than a scholarship – it’s an opportunity for growth and development as well. I imagine all 250 (and possibly more) are deserving candidates. I hope sincerely that the kids who become scholars are truly as remarkable as they seem. Good luck to all. It would be lovely to know the outcome.
