wasn’t your proctor supposed to tell you?
I don’t think he did…and all the other tests have specific scoring instructions on the front page…
so what’s the general consensus on difficulty? i felt that it was harder this year
I would say easier by 1-2 questions so the cutoff should be ~16-17
i am pretty sure it was easier by 2 questions plus 2 questions from guessing meaning cutoff shoukd be about 16-17
I felt 1-18, which was all that I did, was ridiculously easy compared to previous years. It was pure computational and not really hard conceptually. 2014 and 2013’s 1-18 had a lot of hard conceptual problems. But then again maybe I missed a lot and oversimplified problems. What do y’all think
I thought 1-18 were pretty easy, but there were a couple that were tricky. But 19-25 was probably harder than last year’s 19-25 so that might lower the expected cutoff.
A couple that were tricky in 1-18? Really? In that case I must have missed something cause I was like gee that was straightforward. @thepowerofone
Only one more week before discussion and webassign results!
What do you mean by WebAssign results? I thought it said that we would not see our scores on webassign…
Does anybody actually know when scores / semifinalists come out? EDIT: http://www.aapt.org/physicsteam/2015/
"2/5/2015
Semi-finalists for the USAPhO will be posted the third week of February. The testing dates for the USAPhO are March 16-22, 2015.
F=ma scores will be emailed to teachers after the semi-finalists have been posted.
Training camp will be held in Maryland, May 18-27, 2015, with team members arriving May 17th and departing May 28th.

What would y’all recommend for studying for this test?
TBH, I got like a really lucky 4 on AP Physics B and didn’t really put into much effort…what would a decent USAPhO run require?
I got a 5 on the B and am taking C. Still not feeling too good on the f=ma exam (the preliminary)
definitely know mechanics go above and beyond regular ap material
Guys it’s Feb 15 we can discuss!!
Last year’s thread was crazy, where did everybody go?
what was the answer about the ball rolling down the incline and the graphs?
@debate4ever Hopefully the number of ppl who post in this thread is representative of the number of ppl who took the exam -> lower cutoff
lol I hope you’re right @physicsdeity
There was a question about the direction of the net acceleration vector on a pendulum when it was at h/2 or something like that. Pretty sure I got that one wrong.
It was the vector pointing up and left i think
