@lindyk8 Just a small edition. There was only one essay for transfer regents Idk if that is different from previous years
Ah, thx @npham95.
Anyhow, I just emailed UCLA Regents because this makes no sense, is totally at odds to what is publicly written, and Iâd like to know for future reference if they bend the rules, which they might.
@Hyeem94 wait, does that mean I wonât get any money since I have blue and gold? Can you please elaborate
@jasmine2468 The Regents office emailed back and said there is absolutely no way a person could get the UCLA Regents without being invited and submitting an application. They said no way.
@lindyk8 you just called her out on her straight up lies! Lol @jasmine2468 whatâs the point in lying?
@lindyk8 You really think I would find this thread and lie to a bunch of people I donât even know. I got on this thread because I was confused about getting that email too. I wanted to see if anyone else on this thread was in the same situation as I was. Thanks for being so helpful
@jasmine2468 so weâre supposed to believe you when the official committee said you lied? Lol
@LuckyName I got an email. I came here to check if someone else got the email without applying.
Maybe it was mistake on their side as they sent me the email. How can you just assume I am lying?
@jasmine2468 umm because they said it would NEVER happen, AKA youâre lying.
@luckyman I can repeat the same thing 10 times and you will want to believe what you want to believe. So letâs not have this discussion because you are not even ready to listen to what I have to say.
If they did send me that email by mistake, that does not mean I am lying. So get over it
Listen guys! I know we want this scholarship as we all worked hard to transfer to UCLA. I know it must be frustrating when some random person says âI got this without applyingâ. I am not lying. I came here to clear my confusions. I will get in touch with the Financial aid office at UCLA and will clear all this doubt. You all will hear back soon and I hope you all get it.
Will keep you updated. Good luck
The issue is that you keep insisting that âyou got regents without applyingâ. Someone already contacted the Regents Office, and stated that it is required that studentâs apply. If you did receive an email, you probably wonât receive the benefits as it is a mistake.
I doubt that just because they say âit would never happenâ doesnât meant that itâs entirely possible. Last year ucla emailed me a fax with the tax records of another student. It had their parentsâ social security numbers, address, and basically everything you wouldnât want to share with a random person. I was pretty scared to tell them that they had sent me such a sensitive email in error, so I just deleted it. Anyway, nobody is perfect. Although, if it was indeed a mistake, itâs sad as @jasmine2468 probably wonât get the benefits unless ucla wants to be really nice
@psych95 I think that if you get the blue and gold as a student whos parents have a higher income then there is a possibility you wont get any additional money from the Regents Scholarship itself. You would get the benefits of being a regents scholar but if you are getting the blue and gold and your parents are high income i think you there is only a certain amount of money youâre entitle too 12,804? If your parents are not high income then you should be getting additional money. I can be wrong though, I do not know for certain.
Honestly, at this point, does anyone know anything about rejection letters? LoL! Iâm already kinda giving up on waiting for a positive sign.
I stopped waiting and just SIRed to UC Berkeley lol
@Hyeem94 isnât blue and gold awarded to people whoâs parents have low income? >85k it doesnât make sense that theyâd give you blue and gold and deny you regents money for âhigh incomeâ and they said everyone gets 2k regardless of their income bracket.
So it was all a mistake and I cleared it all out!
Thanks for all the help. And good luck with everything!
Did any of your guyâs (epal) change after receiving regents?
@psych95 mine did
