BTW, given our discussions of gender equity, I thought I would just mention that this is the first year I’ve been a little concerned about lack of opportunities for boys (in acting, not MT, two of five plays have all women casts).
Not to hijack the thread too much, but just to branch off of @Jkellynh17’s point: Viterbo’s theatre department skews very female (we only tend to get about 3-4 boys every freshman class), and it often causes some stress/tension within the department, because with 40+ women in the casting pool, there are people who fall through the cracks. With our all-female Romeo and Juliet and the amount of women cast in Merrily this fall, this is the first time since I’ve been at Viterbo that every single woman in the department who was eligible for casting (since we cast in the spring, our incoming freshmen are not included in that pool) have been cast in a show, which I think is remarkable. I’m really proud of our season selection committee (which I sat on this past fall) for picking great shows that gave the faculty the opportunity to spread the wealth. In our entire department, there are only two people (boys, who will not hurt for opportunities in their time here) who were not cast in a fall show.

Can anyone direct me where to find the list of upcoming shows for University of Tampa? I have looked on their site and cant seem to find it. Many thanks!
It may not be on the website yet. I only knew Otterbein’s because my son told me, and they haven’t posted the new season on Otterbein website, but did note that it is “Coming Soon”.
