2016 Acceptance Thread

Here’s what I don’t understand…if the students are encouraged to submit applications electronically, why isn’t the college using technology to notify students? Very frustrating.

Fat envelope arrived today. It does have an ID number that can be used to go online and check electronically Now, but obviously this is cold comfort to the people waiting on the UsPS.

Good luck, fellow EA’ers!

What is the point exactly, do you suppose, of sending the “log in for electronic news” via snailmail? Isn’t it too late at that point?

Yeah, i guess it’s for keeping track of financial aid stuff, room selection and the like.

Saturday’s mail just arrived, and I still haven’t received anything from Goucher. This is really weird, because I checked on Twitter and many students have already received their letters. I live in MA, which makes it even more odd. I guess I’ll have to wait until Monday afternoon to find out then…

Whew fat envelope came today. Very posh presentation.10k renewable scholarship too. Guess I need to make some airplane reservations as we haven’t visited yet.

FYI we are in Michigan.

Still no news in Vermont. Has anyone had trouble logging in tho their admissions account? The password they gave my daughter did not work.

no news from NYC either. I am getting so nervous

DD got her acceptance envelope on Saturday (in Atlanta). Came with full tuition scholarship, too. It had not been her first choice, but that makes it a lot more compelling.

Inatlga , that’s good news. Can you tell us your daughters stats? No word in KS yet.

Nothing in the mail yet. You’re killing me Goucher!

In my AP Lit class we’ve been talking about romanticism and how weather reflects the coming situation. Well, today was a particularly gloomy day in LA- a rarity- so I spent my drive home from school praying that it was ironic cloud cover. Surely enough it was, yaya Goucher 2016!

Yay! My big envelope with a beautiful acceptance folder and letter in it came today! They gave me a $60,000 merit scholarship to be spread over my four years there if I choose to go. I was merely a safety for me, but that scholarship is making me think much more seriously about it. Goucher seems like a great school. I hope everyone else’s news was good as well!

Feb 8…no envelope…when would be appropriate time to email and ask when mailings went out?

Where do you live? I would think a call would be appropriate at this point. We know they were mailed on 2/1, so how long do you expect mail from Maryland to take to your house?

My daughter emailed her admissions rep and on Monday he said her letter was first being mailed on Tuesday, Feb. 7th.
I don’t understand why they did not let the EA applicants know that some letters are going out quite a bit later than 2/1 as planned.

I agree with the above posts. I mean, it’s fine if it will take a little while longer than expected, but at least let people know first. I finally e-mailed my admissions rep today, so hopefully he’ll give me the decision soon.

Guys -

I JUST received my Goucher notification… with a $15,000/yr merit scholarship to boot! The postmark read 2/7, so for all of you on the west coast, you may have to wait another few days. Everything is contained within a well-presented folder. I’m definitely relieved because Goucher is my absolute safety and for a moment there I thought I wouldn’t get in. Just be patient, and wait for a few more days!

I got in today!!! YAH!

A nice fat envelope has arrived!
