Below are the revisit days for the following schools:

EHS 3/20, 3/21, 4/3, 4/4
Hotchkiss 3/30, 4/2, 4/5
Lawrenceville 3/30, 4/1, 4/6
Loomis 4/1, 4/5, 4/7
Middlesex 4/2, 4/6
NMH 3/25, 3/29, 4/1, 4/4, 4/7
Suffield 4/2, 4/4, 4/7
Taft 3/31, 4/4, 4/5

I searched but did not find information for:

Andover
Choate
Exeter
SPS

I did not search for other schools besides these 12.

Thanks @GoatMama for posting this. I find something a little different for Loomis (but I cannot now identify from where): 3/31; 4/5; 4/7. ??? Also, where did you locate the NMH dates?
And would like to add to this list you’ve started (thank you again for doing that)…
Maintaining alphabetical order for anyone else who might want to add…

EHS 3/20, 3/21, 4/3, 4/4
Episcopal H.S. (VA): 3/21, 4/4
Hotchkiss 3/30, 4/2, 4/5
Lawrenceville 3/30, 4/1, 4/6
Loomis 4/1, 4/5, 4/7 (Or is it 3/31, 4/5, 4/7?)
Middlesex 4/2, 4/6
NMH 3/25, 3/29, 4/1, 4/4, 4/7
St. George’s (RI): 4/1, 4/2
Suffield 4/2, 4/4, 4/7
Tabor: 4/4, 4/5, 4/7
Taft 3/31, 4/4, 4/5

@GoatMama we also seem to find different dates for Episcopal (?) I’m thinking you may have found more comprehensive list ?

Great, thanks for adding to the list. A couple of points:

  1. EHS is the same as Episcopal HS (VA), and the 4 dates that I gave are listed on the school's admission calendar:

March - http://www.episcopalhighschool.org/news-calendars/mastercalendar/index.aspx#&&pivotDate=03+2016
April - http://www.episcopalhighschool.org/news-calendars/mastercalendar/index.aspx#&&pivotDate=04+2016

  1. For Loomis, the three dates I gave are on their 2016 calendar: http://www.loomischaffee.org/page.cfm?p=30529&calview=grid&start=4/1/2016&period=month

Just curious: do people only revisit if they get more than one acceptance?

For NMH, the revisit days are called “Envision NMH” and are listed on the school’s calendar: http://www.nmhschool.org/nmh-calendar

@Center even people who are accepted to one school will enjoy the revisit! It’s a nice celebration of all the hard work that went into the application, and it’s a fun way to meet other new families. My daughter met lots of kids at each revisit who had already made the decision to attend that particular school.

Thanks GMC2918: Its funny I was thinking that might be nice --if we are fortunate to have an option–but wondered if it would be obnoxious to visit the school at which you have been accepted. Meaning were revisit days intended for applicants trying to decide.

@Center We plan to revisit if we’re lucky to get even one acceptance. Before sending my child away for four years, I need to be sure that she is comfortable with the choice, likes the environment, and is committed to the decision.

This question is directed to those who have been thru the process before. I can only hope we have this problem. What do you think is the optimal number of schools to revisit? Providing the dates work out, should we revisit as many as we can or does it become a blur after 3 schools or so? Like GoatMama mentioned, it’s a pretty big choice, and overall DS liked them all (6).

Could not figure out how to add these to the list.
Blair - April 1 or April 4
The Hill School - April 1 or April 4
Mercersburg - March 28 or April 4

Goatmama: Makes sense. its hard to imagine what choices we will have if any.

DS had 4 acceptances (2 boarding schools & 2 local day schools). He quickly ruled out 2 schools and revisited 1 boarding and 1 day school. That was a hard enough choice. DS2 applied for day schools this cycle and I think we will max revisits at 3 if he has more than 3 choices.

I would definitely go to a revisit day even if there is one acceptance or your decision is already made. No one else there needs to know how many choices you have.

Visiting 2 schools sounds right. perhaps 3 if it’s really hard to rule out all but 2.
If we have only one choice, then it will depends on how busy we are at the moment, how well her midterm went, and how she is handling the homework.
She was so busy last semester that we had to wait until her winter break for interview visits. So if she has only one acceptance and is very busy, possibly no visit day at all.

Deerfield: 4/1, 4/4, 4/7 (Their calendar says “Spring Visit Day,” which I presume are the Revisit Days)

We visited two even though we pretty much knew what we were going to choose. I told DS that it was an important lesson in understanding the process as it would be repeated for college (and in other aspects of life). During the application process, you’re selling yourself. After you’ve been accepted, the school is selling itself. You can ask some questions you may not have wanted to ask earlier. In fact, even if there was complete candor, it’s interesting to see how one’s perspective can change based on the change of status. In other words, it’s a learning experience. But most of all, it lets everyone get a better sense of what they’ll experience in the fall. Particularly if your child is going far from home, this will help him/her feel less anxious about the process over the spring and summer. So yes, even if you get into one, you should go if it’s feasible. Just my (strong!) opinion.

Here is the updated revisit list. Feel free to add schools in, keeping the list in alphabetical order.

In terms of the number of visiting days to attend, the most I’ve heard of anyone doing is three, but that also depends on logistics such as timing & distance etc.
