2016ers: Your college assignments are up

If I recall correctly, you should not have your rooming assignments yet. However, if you search for yourself at princeton.edu, you can at least see your new residential college. To all new Rockyites out there, congratulations on winning the housing lottery.

Whitman! :)

FightTheTide11, I have been assigned Rocky and cannot wait to live in a castle. I take it you’re a Rockyite?

Mathey! :)

@alexcuad:
I’m technically in upperclass housing, but I’m absolutely full of Rocky pride, and I’ll definitely be back for study breaks.

Rocky!

What are the dorms like in rocky? As in, mostly doubles, singles, triples?

Rocky has a ton of quads, quite a few doubles, and not a whole lot of singles for freshmen.

How’s Butler? I asked for a quad

butler is the best, in my opinion (unless you’re living in 1915 hall, which is the only old butler building). they are nice, clean, spacious, and great location.

Thanks for the heads up, FightTheTide11! Do you have any idea when rooming assignments are released?

Tomorrow at the earliest. I believe I got mine on the 17th two years ago.

are the Res. Colleges assigned randomly and/or does one have preference input?

College assignments are fairly random in that they want each college to be representative of the entire class as a whole. There is no way to indicate preference.

Interesting article on the current housing crunch.

Can anyone tell me anything about Walker Hall? What does it look like? Sub free or not? Characteristics?

Walker is in Wilson College. You can see a photo of the outside if you use the online maps here:

According to the online room guide, there are no Sub-Free rooms in Walker. Also, the room reviews are quite positive. Most of the rooms are very large.

Here is a set of reviews for a sample room:

You can look up more reviews at the room guide website if you have your student signon info:
