Agreed it only takes 1 EMC point to be considered EMC. But it is important to be clear on how many points you will be getting, particularly now when you only need 25 to get your full equity card. Some people might choose to pay money for an internship if they think it will yield 12 EMC points because they feel the investment is worth it. But they might not make that same choice if they will only get 1 or 2 points. Not all actors who choose to do this are new to the EMC program, so the number of points may be important to them. Again, neither choice is wrong. Like with all things, just do your research and make the choice that is best for you. Also, realize you still have to be selected for these positions. You can’t just pay your money and go. Most are audition based and many are highly selective with hundreds of applicants for very few spots.
