Has anyone heard from NETC this week?
@Meanasmom I don’t know when her portal was updated, but today she received her e-mail from StrawHat notifying her that she had an audition spot. I think as long as your daughter doesn’t have a “no,” then she is still being considered! @mtmamma2020 No word here from NETC.
@janne006 Thank you so much and congrats to her! We haven’t heard from NETC yet either.
Ditto!
StrawHats just posted this on facebook: “Audition notices are coming soon. Thank you for your patience!”
My daughter got a letter at school saying still in review from Strawhat
@lincoln56 That surprises me, I thought they would just get a yes, no or standby… was it in her SASE? Still nothing here!
My D just got a yes from Straw Hats. They updated her portal and then emailed her. The email said her official notice would be sent in her second SASE. No word from NETC for her yet.
Well that’s what my D told me try I have been texting her non stop to see if her portal was updated yet. So far no response from her she so busy working on a show this week. I have low expectations because she’s a freahman
D received a Yes today to Strawhats! Sent via email
My D texted she got a spot today as well. Last year, she auditioned as a freshman and nothing came out of it. She and her classmates are more focused on doing auditions for individual theatres this year.
I received an email yesterday from Strawhats telling me I got a spot as well! Glad to see it wasn’t a mistake (which I was worried it might be as I hadn’t heard of people hearing through email before). I’m a freshman MT boy for reference. Beyond excited about this wonderful opportunity! No word from NETC yet, but I decided very last second to submit.
Congrats, @Monkeiiboy!
My daughter checked her email today, and lo and behold, there was a yes to an audition slot! We were both shocked, but in a good way. Hoping others get great news as well!
@duxellen YAY!!!
So glad both of our kids got in! I really thought a rejection was imminent. The ironic thing is that nothing has changed re her resume, yet she got a slot this year, but not last year! So random. Only thing that was different was that she sent her application in much earlier this year… And she’s a sophomore instead of a freshman… Whatever the reason -now we’re happy!
I have yet to figure out how they choose people for slots. I mean It has to be based a lot on your look since resumes of people who have gotten slots are not that padded really. I mean maybe if you are a sophomore that automatically ups your chances from being a freshman since you would have had a years growth. I am concerned that D will not get a slot since she is that “vanilla, brown haired girl” who seems to look like everyone else! I feel like maybe you have to have a different look to get a freshman slot and your chances would increase as an upperclassman regardless of look/type.
I agree! If your daughter doesn’t get a spot this year, try, try again next year! It worked for us. And get the application in as soon as possible! The competition for slots is so fierce, especially for girls.
I think it must not matter when you apply because they say they give everyone a fair shake and look at each application, etc. D knows people who applied later who have a slot. But yes good to apply early as you would hear back sooner.
My D has not heard from Strawhats yet but has received an audition spot for NETC. I wonder if Strawhats will also email a no or just yes and snail mail the no’s?
