@penntousc cool, thanks for the info.
Has anyone done the Writing 150 requirement? Is that that same as the Writing 130 requirement? What should I do if my cc doesn’t offer the course?
@zettasyntax thanks for sharing. I hope things are getting better!
Hey guys! So, I am applying this year to USC and it has always been my dream school. I am from a community college in NC. I’m super nervous and I guess all of us are. I’m hoping to get into Marshall and getting into their International Business (Global Business) major . I already know I will receive an SGR because I couldn’t take Calculus 1 until this Spring, which is a huge bummer, but what can I do about it? I really hope to get support from you guys and I will also enjoy giving you guys feedback. It’s going to be a looooong process, but we’ll have to be patient. Fight on!
@penntousc might be different for schools out of california but usc has a articulation agreement for my school and it says that we need to take calc 1 and 2, or business calc to satisfy the requirement.
@pomeranian4rich really? At USC, THEIR Calc 1 class satisfies the requirement, correct? I just want to make sure, because on the articulation agreement for my school is says that our Calc 1 is a direct equivalent to USC’s, so I think that’s all I have to take. Just want to make sure before I register for my spring courses.
@penntousc I talked to my assigned USC advisor and she told me that Calculus 1 will satisfy that prerequisite requirement. Since I am out-of-state and my college does not have an articulation agreement. She told me to just follow the Transfer Planning Worksheet as best as I could. So, I think you’re good with just taking Calculus 1, at least that’s what I am doing as well.
@hustlemuscle yeah because this is the first I’ve seen anyone mention that they’re required to take calc 1 and 2 to fulfill the requirement, so I’m assuming it’s only/mostly for in state students.
@penntousc I know me too! I was starting to get anxious which is why I emailed her again, haha 8-| Hopefully, it’ll all work out.
@penntousc Well if it satisfy their requirement that’s good then! idk why usc requires my school to take calc 1 and 2. on the sheet it says usc math125 = calc 1 & calc 2 for my school. I checked usc math125 description and I noticed that the “exponential and logarithmic functions” part isn’t taught in calc 1 for my school, instead it goes in depth in calc 2. So i’m guessing that’s the reason I am required to take calc 1 and 2 lol. I’m from a ccc btw.
@pomeranian4rich that’s interesting because we don’t go into exponential and logarithmic functions until calc 2 either lol doesn’t make much sense to me
@penntousc lol then your case might be the same as mine, but not really sure.
I applied as a senior in high school… rejected. Applied as a sophomore transfer… rejected. Hopefully my last and 3rd time applying to USC will be successful
@pomeranian4rich well my calc 1 is equivalent to their calc 1 so I’ll just run with it
Hey guys! Is anyone here applying to Annenberg?
Any freshman attempting to transfer from LMU to USC?
@badmintongirl hey I remember you from the last year thread. It was disappointing that you were rejected twice from usc… but 3rd time the charm i guess haha.
Annenberg applicant here from an OOS CC!
@ashurikko yay! I thought I was the only one!
Does anyone have any idea why an applicant may be accepted for Spring semester rather than Fall? other than an SGR? Maybe incompletion of GEs? If I’m accepted, I’d want to attend ASAP, so that’s one of my fears haha
