@SportsNerd24 The kobe bryant video was dope! Very cool idea for a channel, haha hope you become a NBA reporter, been a NBA fan since as long as i could remember. Warriors all dayy (bay area native).
Hey everyone! I really want your input!
So I submitted my USC app about a week ago. Im hoping to transfer in as a junior but since my freshman year my declared major has been Business. I ended up failing my calculus course and due to various reasons, I ultimately decided i want to change my major to Comm. But USC Annenberg (Comm) doesn’t require the calculus course.
Do you think I should take the calculus again to redeem my previous grade even though Annenberg doesn’t require it? Or should I leave it be?
I want admissions to have the best impression of me and I don’t know if retaking it would make any difference to them.
@youngwiz, the new grade won’t replace your old one. USC also said they don’t honor other university’s grade forgiveness policies (like erasing your old grade for a new one) so they’ll look at both unless you received a C- or higher on your first try, they won’t even look at the new grade regardless of what it is.
Also keep in mind they’ll only see it if they ask for an SGR so in the end it may not do anything for you. But at the same time, as long as you don’t do worse, it really can’t hurt you that much… just make sure it doesn’t take up space that you could dedicate to taking another course
@SportsNerd24 Nice videos! Are you applying as a junior transfer?
Any external transfers aiming for Marshall out here? I want to get an idea on where I stand. What’s your intended focus in business? College GPA? How are your ECs and Essays?
I am a junior transfer from a competitive out of state university, Finance, gpa: 3.75 upward trending, ecs: 2 solid internships, club sports, community service, musical background, worked full time in retail
Essays: are okay ._.
@emorylove97 I’m applying as a sophomore from a CC in Pennsylvania. I have a 4.0 for the fall, and will likely maintain that for the spring, with all marshall requirements completed as well as 6 GEs. I don’t have any ECs, but I’m not worried about that because ECs don’t boost competitiveness (but they do help to give admissions counselors an idea of who you are). Obviously I’d like to say my essays are good, but it’s very difficult to place a grade on them. Good luck!
@SportsNerd24 @jae2017 Annenberg applicant here too!
Who’s a Viterbi applicant here?
Does anyone else’s YouSC say this for the app status?
“We have received your USC Supplement, but not the Common Application. Be sure you submit the Common Application to USC, at www.commonapp.org.”
I definitely submitted the Common App! Kinda freaking out.
@SportsNerd24 I SUPER LOVE THE VIDEOS!!! I hope you put this somewhere in your application. And you’re a girl, too! Get it, girl!!!
@OCCtoUSC I would wait a few more days to allow the office to get through all the data, or if you can’t wait anymore, I would call them. Remember a bunch of people submitted near the deadline so there could be overflow and all the data might not have all been fully propagated.
@OCCtoUSC I sent in both too but it says my writing supplement has not been submitted. You aren’t alone buddy^^
I’m so glad I found this thread! I am applying for several UC schools and USC and I found out that the deadline for UC to submit the statement of intent to register is incredibly close to USC’s admission deadline and I’m freaking out! If USC ask for SGR I would be able to give them my grades AFTER the UC register deadline. If I get all A’s on my spring quarter later, will I be 100% accepted to USC? I’m taking the english and math requirement on spring so I’ll get the SGR for sure :(( I’m transferring from a california communty college and my GPA is 3.94
@anxiousx100 no one here can confirm 100% acceptance. No guarantees in this business lol
@anxiousx100 if you’ve got a good amount of GEs completed and get A’s or B+'s in those math and writing courses I’d say you have a good shot (for spring at least). But, I can guarantee you that you’ll be getting an SGR because of those being in progress, which means you will receive your decision anywhere between June 1st and the middle of July. Good chance you’ll have to put the deposit on a UC while waiting, unless you decide to give up hope on USC. Best of luck!
@anxiousx100 I can testify that even with all A’s on spring you have a possibly of getting rejected like me from last year. lol
Do you pay for college loans while you’re in school or after you graduate? I’m a first-generation college student so I have no idea.
@lilego69 normally you have 6 months after you graduate to start paying off your loans
Okay that sounds reasonable. I was just wondering because my parents won’t be able to contribute towards my education and I want to make an informed decision when I’m choosing schools. The only way I can go to SC is if they give me one of those generous aid packages people talk about. According to their net price calculator I would receive a hefty some of money but you never know.
