@giriboy No, but they want the transcripts as close to the date as possible. Don’t wait too long
@giriboy Optimally, you want to have nothing showing on the “required documents” tab on YouSC by the deadline.
@Vincent1997 when do i get my yousc account after submitting the commonapp? i havent gotten an email
@giriboy Yeah relatively soon after submitting the application. I think it took me about a week to get it?
what address do we send the hs transcipt too?
@giriboy When I ordered my hs-transcript I just declare that I want to send it to USC. I didn’t need to put any address. Doesn’t your school do the same?

Hey everyone. I am a sophomore at a small public LAC in NJ. I sent my transcripts out to USC, but I still have not submitted my Common App. If someone could provide me some essay feedback, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, and best of luck to all!
would there be any issues if i mailed out my hs and college transcripts well before the 2/1 deadline? mailed them around 1/20. i got a confirmation from the parchment service used by my hs saying that my hs transcripts were successfully received.
In the courses section of the Common App do I put the classes I took in the Fall. Or do I post the classes for the Fall and Spring? Also, do I have to put all courses or only the ones that will transfer to USC? Good luck everyone!
@gearsekandou i wouldn’t worry about it! it’s absolutely a reasonable time frame.
@MattBags33 Spring classes are important. You can add Fall as well, if you like.
Hello, I had a question for Viterbi transfer. On Viterbi’s transfer website, they recommended that I take their Math 126, then Math 225 during my school year. At my CC though, there is one class that is a prerequisite to Math 225, and Math 225 is split into two courses. I am currently taking this prerequisite, but I’m worried about my spring quarter. If I do take Math 225, I’ll be taking those two classes along with Physics and a biological science. I’m worried that this will be far too much coursework to maintain my GPA. Would USC mind if I put down GEs instead of those two math courses on the Common App or would they like to see me taking Math 225. My logic goes that if I do get in, I could clear Math 225 in one semester at USC, and they would prefer me to learn it there at CC. Thank you for any advice!
@Mattnbags33 What @Vincent1997 said and will add, all courses, whether you think they transfer or not.
@anotherday9 Can you trade the biological science for a GE and then do the math? The bio science seems like the least in value.
im having trouble logging in the youSC portal, is anyone else having the same problem??
@CADREAMIN Bio would be my GE for life science, and even without I’m still worried that I wouldn’t do well with that many physics and math courses.
Do you guys know if I can send recommendations later? Can I send it through physical mail?
@anotherday9 Math at USC is pretty killer. I knew a guy that dropped out of Math 225 not once, but twice. I’m not sure where I saw this phrase, but it went something like “Math at USC makes you hate math”. It is nice that Math 225 does combine linear algebra and diff equations as those are indeed two separate courses in lots of community colleges. If you can somehow manage knocking out this requirement before you transfer, you’d be in terrific shape. I found that math at my CC was quite tolerable because tons of extra credit was offered - it bumped up my grade by an entire letter. It’s quite rare for USC courses to offer extra credit. Many syllabi straight up say it isn’t offered and that students shouldn’t ask.
How much does USC value the “other recommendation” in transfer apps? I talked to admissions and they say they accept it if it’s directly from the recommender. I have a non-academic recommender (not family) who is an alumnus of USC and used to be on the board of trustees at USC.
