Congrats! Good for you.
Daughter received letter today after acceptance on portal last Monday. OOS, MA, global business major, applying to Chinese flagship. Her centennial is 11,000/yr. SATs of 1270 plus a 22 on the SAT essay, UW GPA 3.3, full IB program, IB diploma candidate (which she will complete; her school requires it), some EC, volunteer work, working as lifeguard, has attended a language-immersion school since 6th grade. URI is her first choice because of the flagship program; she’ll be able to do it in four years with her language background. She is a nonnative speaker.
@palsmoore I had a 3.7 UW and 1520 SAT (EBRW 720 + Math 800).
I sent in three SAT subject tests (Korean: 800, Japanese: 710, Math2: 770). I also had decent (but not exceptional) EC’s (volunteering, translation job, outside-of-school newspaper, speech contests, club pres, piano, etc.). Nothing related to pharmacy tho!
Awesome - thanks so much everyone - we got our package today- full centennial - I am assuming no one heard anything about the honors program? That I guess comes later.
My daughter will be looking for a serious, quiet roommate (hopefully in honors program) she is biochem major premed - thanks for the info
My son finally got his package. 52k over four years for marine bio. He had a 3.3 uw GPA/4.1 weighted at a very competitive math/science magnet program and 34 ACT.
Congratulations that is great news!
