@jj1999 I would say no if I didn’t want them talking to them, but not because they are busy or don’t exist.
Hey everyone.
Finally found this thread and am excited to be applying to USC! Hopefully I have a good shot, I’m applying to both CS and Econ majors, so all I need is to get into one! Currently attending Loyola Maryland as a freshman. My GPA is 3.751 with a 31 on my ACT and 1420 on the SAT. High school GPA was around a 3.3 I think.
Do I have a realistic shot?
Hi everyone! Chance me?
Currently a college freshman with sophomore standing units. I will have junior credits going into the Fall semester. I currently have a 3.67, but if all goes well I’ll have a 3.74 by the end of winter semester. I currently have 29 units but will have 60 done by spring (winter semester and spring together). I have two incredible letters of rec, one being an internship, I’m part of the honors program, and I also have parent alumni status. All of my GE’s will be done by spring as well. Transferring from a cali community college. Applying for Annenberg and Dornsife. Let me know! Thanks everyone and best of luck this year!
@goodBrujo9 Hey! I’m transferring from a CCC into Annenberg (hopefully). Anyway you can chance me with all of my stats?
@CADREAMIN @zettasyntax If I apply as a business administration major and I choose real estate development as my second choice major would I have to complete ALL the Prereqs for that as well. Would I get turned down from that choice if I didn’t complete like their math req (the one that I wouldn’t complete by the time).
What’s the best way to go about with contacting USC about a change in your spring semester courses?
Will one bad AP score ruin my chances or nah
@jj1999 They don’t use your ap scores as an indicator for acceptance…
Hello everyone,
I’m applying to USC as a sophomore and these are a few of my stats. I finished my Fall semester with a 3.5, but I hope to push that up to a 3.75 by end of the Spring semester. I took 18 units my first semester and all of them were my GE’s; next semester I’ll be taking more GE’s and my major related classes (I’m a poli sci major). As a result, I’ll be done with my GE’s except for the two I have to take at USC were I to be accepted. My essays detailed how I worked two jobs (one as a SAT tutor at inner city high schools during the day and teaching English to Spanish-speaking adults at night) and also why USC is the best place to study politics and history. Furthermore, I worked as a Congressional intern and played a club sport. I received a 3.5 due to two B+'s. Spring semester I’ll be taking the the Writing class that’s mandatory and also my major related classes so I’ll be taking 15 units making my whole semester 33 units so they won’t ask for my high school record, right? Do you think I’ll be denied straight out or will I receive a SGR?
Thanks and Please someone respond (I’m going crazy with anxiety)
How important is the language requirement? I flunked my placement test for Japanese and placed in the lowest category. In addition, the lower level Japanese courses at my school are six credit classes, and I only paid to have an additional three credits to my regular courseload. Would it make a difference in my odds for acceptance if I did not take the elementary language course this semester?
Hi! So I’m a freshman at CPSLO electrical engineering and I’m not on the Trojan transfer plan and want to transfer in as a sophomore. I have a 4.0 GPA with 18 units last quarter, and expect close to that this quarter. I also have a 1510 new sat. I hear it’s a lot harder to transfer in as a sophomore, and I’m not on TTP, so wouldthat put me at an automatic disadvantage?
For what it is worth, Last year, S’s friend, non TTP, was admitted to transfer to USC as a sophomore from a UC with a 3.95 GPA during his freshman year. He found out that he was admitted after he submitted his Winter Quarter grades and did not have to wait for completion of Spring quarter for SGR to determine admission, which is important because it can delay getting university housing. He was a political science major, which is not as competitive to get into as electrical engineering. Keep up the high grades and I think you’ll have a chance. Good luck!
I am currently a college freshman and will have 29 credits by the end of the spring semester. I have a 4.0 and have 6/8 core literacy gen eds and 2/2 global perspective gen eds. I was planning on transferring as a business major but do not have the calc requirement. I emailed my counselor and he said I will still be considered for admission but I will not be as competitive as an applicant. Should I still apply as a business major? or should my first choice major be political science, which I have the prerequisites for.
I spoke to my counselor at USC days and he said the closer you are to 30, the less they look at your high school grades.
They are telling you business won’t fly without that requirement. There will be many applicants with same stats that have it done and they will get the spot ahead of you. So if you want to get into USC and don’t mind a different major, then switch it to Poli Sci to increase your chances. If you really want a business degree you need to knock out the calc requirement. While not a picnic, you could try to transfer to Marshall after you get into USC. That’s super competitive too, but not impossible.
@CADREAMIN do you think it would hurt my chances to put business as my first choice major and political science as my second choice major?
Would getting a 4 or 5 on the AP Calc test fulfill the Calc requirement for Business? I asked my counselor and he said to just send the scores

Hey guys, I know this is late. For one of the SlideRoom essays (for SCA Interactive Media), I have to write about a project that failed. I have two options.
Option 1 is a game that I successfully completed, but it was with a dysfunctional group.
Option 2 is about my first rejection from USC. I tried to make a game in time for the deadline, but I did not finish. Whether or not I choose to do this option, would it hurt if I discussed what happened with my first rejection anywhere throughout my writing samples?
Also, how important is the language requirement?
How did you guys upload the transcript to Common App? Can someone tell me the steps?
