2019 Fall Transfer UMN CSE - Chances & Missing Documents Issue

Hey guys, I am now an international junior student majoring in music performance from the CCM, University of Cincinnati. I decided to steer my wheel for engineering last year due to a medical reason. I really want to go to UMN CSE since it has a very good mechanical engineering program and is relatively affordable for my parents at the same time. My Stats are as follows:

  • credits completed (as of now): 79
  • credits of technical courses (as of now): 27
  • w overall GPA: 3.86 / 4.0
  • w technical GPA: 3.98 / 4.0
  • All prerequisite courses for M.E. program completed with an additional upper-division course (Multivariable Calculus). Courses in progress are Linear Algebra and Differential Equations (6 credits).
  • 6 semester of Dean's List and a quite a lot of ECs in the music field including numerous performances each year since 2009, including 7 years of music service in the church, solo and orchestra performances, competitions, etc.

I just joined the College Confidential yesterday and I saw that UMN CSE has quite a low acceptance rate of around 20%, which truly freaks me out and makes me a little nervous. Could someone tell me my chances of being admitted? I appreciate a lot!

Also, I submitted the transcript from the college, where I took a summer course (Calculus I), on 01/14. I asked UMN admission office a few days later and they told me to wait for 7-10 days. However, so far I haven’t seen it listed as received item on my App Tracker. Does anyone have the same experience as I do? What would you suggest me to do?

Thank you everyone for reading this long thread and thank you for helping!

honestly your grades are near perfect and I will be surprised if they reject you. from my experience don’t worry too much about the missing documents. I had the same thing happen to me and I called them cause I was freaking out and they told me to just chill and wait and then they showed up!

@transferrrrrrcc Thanks for your reply! Actually, I just called them this morning for my transcript from an international institution. They forward me to an international counselor and she solved my problem today! I would have still been waiting if I had not called them lol. I agree with you that it just takes time for some documents to show up in App Tracker.
