2019 Transfer

So I’m preparing my TAP, as I’m looking to transfer into a UC after much thought. These are my stats so far. I’m honestly not thrilled about my GPA. I did poorly for about 3 semesters because I was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation for a year. I’m currently rocking it this semester and I have a good feeling I’m going to finish with a 4.0 this semester. I calculated that if I get A’s during Fall 2018 and Spring 2019, I should have an overall 3.23 GPA and 3.32 GPA that is Assist Certified. My biggest concern is that I will not qualify for TAG, due to my high number of units~ I’ve been in CC since 2013. I really hope I get accepted to UCSB as an English major and can somehow sway the admissions people with my cancer story and personal stories that I can weave into explaining my crappy GPA. I currently work two jobs and I’ll be interviewing for my third job ASAP. I have 100+ hours of community service and both of my jobs are through a school district working with students via AVID and I work at a retail store. I’m planning in joining the Associated Student Government at my CC and joining two clubs this upcoming week. Can someone tell me that I have hope in being accepted somewhere :((

You have a decent chance at getting into ucsb for the english major, if you get that 3.32 assist certified. You will still accepted even without TAG, so don’t stress yourself out and just work hard
