Once the link opens it says “admitted students”.The CDS shows enrolled 1870-2120. I think one of Jeff’s blogs said 1344 average for CR+M. It’s difficult to know which one is the most accurate profile for last year’s incoming class.
Could someone please explain this to me. Thank you.

My daughter was just accepted! Applied Nov 15. Homeschooled, Illinois, ACT 34, gpa 3.84/4.52

I will see what I can find out. I still believe that the CDS document would be the most authoritative, since that is what is reported to the Dept. of Education. But mistakes happen. I have inquired to get an answer to this seeming contradiction. Of course, getting an answer this time of year…

FC – Respectfully it is a bit confusing as after the reference to “Class of 2014 Incoming Students” it does currently state “Middle 50% Test Scores (Admitted)” And, again respectfully, my post was NOT in error as it referred to the website and that wording … I said that in my post. That may change in the next five minutes (smile), but that’s how it reads at the moment and probably how it has read for a while.

Agreed, I was mostly going off the CDS report, which I have always taken as authoritative since, as I say, it is reported to the Dept. of Ed. And I confess I didn’t see the “(admitted)” like that, I only saw the title of INCOMING FRESHMEN FALL 2014. My apologies. Hopefully Tulane can clear this up, I have written asking about it.

FC – I think you are still right, and I agree that’s what the CDS report says. The only additional thing I can add is the CDS report is on the 2013 Incoming Class and the reference on the Admissions Website is to the 2014 Class, but I cant imagine that would change a lot year over year. And, just to add to the other thankful voices here, thanks for everything you are doing here!

Thanks, you are very kind. I am quite interested in the right answer myself, for sure. I feel that the 29-32 has to be right for the incoming class. I am less sure about the 1960-2140, but who knows. You are definitely right that those numbers haven’t changed much year to year, as looking at past CDS reports will show. So there is no reason to believe that the 2014 class would have dramatically different numbers. In fact, I think Jeff said it was the strongest class yet, IIRC. Not sure, he says that almost every year because, I assume, it is true. It does seem from what I see on here (obviously not scientific), that Tulane seems to garner more and more respect and interest from excellent students, with an especially increased impact from the West Coast. There seems to be quite a few from there with great credentials that are finding Tulane in increasing numbers.

Well we are on the West Coast, still waiting on result. Anyone else from Oregon heard about acceptance/deferral yet?

Forced daughter today to get her GC to email her 4.0 first quarter grades today. I tried to hold my tongue, but unsuccessful, once again. ;)

will decisions continue to be released over the weekend? or only Mon thru Fri?

In the past there have sometimes been weekend notifications, especially this close to the deadline.

My daughter submitted her app today. How soon after did you get an email with your tulane id? We’ve gotten nothing and need that number to submit the art portfolio.

Just accepted EA!!! Tulane is my first choice but I was stressing out looking at this forum, as I only got a 27 on the ACT and applied months ago. Hope this helps anyone who felt the same looking at all these high scores … Don’t give up yet!!!

THANK YOU!!! This gives me hope!

Where are you from?

I have said this a few times, but it would be easy to miss: CC posters skew heavily towards being people that have high stats. Those of you that don’t hang out here that much and/or are fairly new would have no way to know that. But it does result in potentially getting an equally skewed perception of the average applicant. The average CC applicant is inevitably superior statistically to the overall applicant pool.

Dd just got accepted! We are from far-northern California. She was homeschooled grades 4-10, then public school for 11-12.
applied Nov 15 (too darn close to the deadline)

Pre-Med and really excited about tropical medicine and infectious disease

She is so excited! I have been holding my breath for days and now I can enjoy the fact that she got in! Homeschooling was a great endeavor but I was terrified that we were making the wrong decision.
Fallenchemist, thank you for your insight and thoughtful responses.
Can’t wait to visit Tulane in the early spring!

yep about 30 minutes ago!

Posted my stats a few days ago when I got accepted, but I just found out that I got $27,000/yr in merit aid! So if anyone has similar stats that might help you estimate what you’ll get.

Very nice, @remytreat! I will do a small brag that my prediction for your merit was on target.
