You mean Mike of Mikes Hot Honey???
This Mike? He got quite a story! About Us – Mike's Hot Honey
I’m not a chili flavor person so won’t be trying it, but sounds like it would make a good Hallmark movie. Maybe set at Christmas? With a love interest who hates pizza until she tries it with MHH?
I have 4 jars of Mike’s hot honey going in the stockings of my adventurous eaters. Thanks, CC!
Yes, kid’s path crossed his a few times a year until covid shut down trade shows.
She also knows Jose Andres and Giovani Colavita.
I’m so frustrated - there’s no hot honey available in Japan! Although maybe I’ve spotted a market opportunity? In Japan, four-cheese pizza is always served with honey, and spicy is also a thing here. Overall, at the end of another stocking stuffer season, I’m feeling pretty good about what I’ve collected for my kids - a little bit of socks and underwear, puzzles, lip balm, eye masks, snacks, etc. And always a stuffed toy, even though they are now 19 and 21. When my mother was still alive, we used to visit her in Florida for Christmas, and there was always a stuffed toy peeking out of the stocking on Christmas morning. Can’t bring myself to give it up, and I think the kids expect it. This year, thanks to this thread, my daughter’s getting a squishmallow. My son was supposed to get one as well, but my order was cancelled by the seller, so he’s getting a stuffed tuna.
The Mike’s Hot Honey was a huge hit!
H bought himself an electric lawn mower and is thrilled with it!
Bomba socks, Zwilling grater, Squishmallows - all big hits discovered here. I look forward to seeing you all again next year!
@tkoparent, Bomba slipper socks went down a treat here.
@Colorado_mom, we got the curve brushes & they were a real success also.
And to the several posters way upthread who suggested the Sephora make-up eraser- the initial reaction was polite interest- but as soon as they used it they loved it!
Thanks, all, for the suggestions!
Another Bomba Slipper socks hit with our family.
I bought the bomba slipper socks. I had bought a small for me when they were a good morning America deal and they were really small. Since my daughter has bigger feet than me, I ordered her a medium. They were huge! Then I looked at the size guide and I think they changed their sizing. Because a medium wasn’t sock size 9-11 but shoe size 9-11. She wears a 7.
I hope she can wash, dry them and they will shrink a bit.
I bought myself a Cuisinart stick blender with attachments and a canvas bag to store everything. It works — made sone great whipped cream on Christmas and got D’s approval. I like that it’s so portable and easy to stow.
You guys! It’s EVERYWHERE! Saw a ‘Mike’s Hot Honey Milkshake’ on the menu while at Melt Shop today.
That sounds good!!
We saw Mike’s hot sauce at a local bakery on Xmas Eve. I couldn’t stop laughing - had to explain why to the family after gifts were opened Xmas morning. Got H the spicy version - havent tried that as yet.
Does anyone know what to do with the waxed Amaryllis after they have stopped blooming? I pealed off the wax and there are no roots. Do we dry the bulbs before planting in the garden?
I did quite a bit of research and there was no real consensus. Some sites said the bulb was exhausted and should just be thrown away. Others said it was possible to get them to grow again. So far, I’ve taken off the wax and put it into dirt.
Near the bottom, they discuss regrowing.

Marilyn, did you plant yours outside straight away? I live in your neck of the woods (Coastal SoCal) and am thinking to strip the wax and plant it in a bed with other random bulbs once the blooms are exhausted.
I did - trimmed the stalks down to an inch and put it in a pot and set it on the deck. So far nothing is happening but I haven’t checked yet to see if it needs watering (I was thinking the very high overnight humidity would keep the dirt moist). My plant (bought the day after Thanksgiving) kept blooming until about midnight on NYE; by morning it was done. I gave it a couple of days of mourning before taking off the wax and planting.
