A gaming chair ornament - I’ve got to check that out!
Thanks for the idea about tattoos. I don’t like tattoos and my kids weren’t allowed to have them as long as I was paying the bills. Now they don’t really want permanent ones, but would enjoy a temporary one.
D#1 has a surgery scar that is about 10" long on her back. When people would ask her “What happened?!?” she started answering ‘shark bite’ (and you can’t believe how many people believed her) so we always thought it would be fun to have a shark tattoo.
I think some of them are kind of cute. Temporarily.
Oprah’s Favorite Things may have some ideas. The organic lip balm has been added to my cart
Thanks for heads up. Ordered the lip balm.
I already ordered some for my kids!
I got the “stick on kind” I was thinking of the pen, but read reviews that you had to be very careful - if you got it on your fingers, you ended up with tattooed fingers for 2 weeks! And if you put a tattoo on you hand and then accidentally sleep on your hand…well let’s just say someone had a tattooed face for 2 weeks.
I am going to buy my daughter a museum membership. I had been talking about doing this for a while and then it was closed for the pandemic. Open again now, walking distance from where she lives.
@kiddie – My sister says that’s been one of her favorite gifts ever. That and membership at an art film theater. There’s such freedom in feeling like you can just go!
We got JosephJoseph individual silicone microwave popcorn makers – that’s a lot of words for a big silicone tumbler with a flip-close lid. It makes one generous serving; the lid pops back open as the tumbler fills. i got ours at Kohls.
We always put in maple sugar candy, lottery tickets, and pencils from Carbon Crusader (Etsy, clever sayings on the pencils). But the really popular item last year (we mailed stockings, thank you covid) was spatulas!
Not a stocking stuffer (refer me to another thread if needed)…. but does anybody order amaryllis via mail order. I usually get catalogs (Breck’s, Jackson&Perkins) with deals such as free shipping, but so far only Breck’s full price.
I’ve sent and given them from White Flower farm and gotten rave reviews. Not the cheapest option.
Viva Terra has some no water ones in wax – very giftable! – that were big hits. Admit I kept one for myself and got great joy from it! (And everyone I sent them to sent photos - extra fun!)
I got a couple of Whiskey River Soap things from Macy’s. The Procrastinators Pencils and Dog People candle (smells like unconditional love) will be making an appearance in our stockings on Christmas morning.
Those look amazing. Beautiful and easy!!! Thanks for sharing that link!!
The amaryllis is lovely. Sad you’re supposed to throw it away rather than plant and enjoy future blossoms. Still may get it for a hard to gift friend.
I’ve gotten the wax amaryllis bulb from Trader Joe’s in the past.
One can make amaryllis bulbs rebloom but it requires some work. My mom used to get her bulbs bloom year after year. She would let them go dormant in the garage for a few months then bring them back into the house.
Hmmm, we just have them in a pot and mostly neglect ours. H sometimes puts sone fertilizer on it and sometimes waters it and it’s been blooming for many many years and made a bunch of new bulbs. I believe from the one we had he made 5 or 6 so far over the years.
Bought for S19. It looks cool and has a good weight to it. It’s fun (fidget spinner) and handy even if it’s only used for opening bottles. Comes in a nice box.
I have asked D to get wax amaryllis bulbs at TJ in the past, but she has been too late. They must fly off the shelf because of the inexpensive price. Maybe this year - fingers crossed.
As for free shipping on anything, increased shipping prices are going to make that perk a rarity this year.
We get fruit every year from this company, shipping is always included in the price. Everything is always of amazing quality and so much better than the grocery store. They have a few different amaryllis varieties available. Giant Amaryllis | Pittman & Davis
