Thanks, that looks like a fun gift for my ADHD tinkerer son! I found another one for $12.99 that looks the same as far as I could tell. I used the 20% off coupon offered and got it for $11.
My grandmother gave H amaryllis bulbs 15 plus years ago. He has them planted in two large pots on the back deck and they bloom year after year. He doesn’t do anything special to them. Maybe they like our mild coastal San Diego weather.
I’m jealous, @showmom858 . I have tried to get mine to re-bloom and they won’t! Have wondered about putting them in the fridge for a month or so would do the trick, but now you have me wondering if that’d be too cold…
Thanks for the suggestions—have bought Amaryllis bulbs at Pittman & Davis for folks I’m having increasing difficulty shopping for, as well as a friend having a lumbar puncture. Also got boxes of fruit for my kids while I was placing the order—easier for them to ship than me nagging af them.
Had not heard of that brand before but am hoping I hear good things from the recipients.
We have been using them for years! Never any complaints ourselves, or from recipients (some now send gifts to others now, too). I think you’ll be happy!
I’m thinking I may order the amaryllis bulbs for each family member and then start a group text for sharing our pics as we grow them leading up to Christmas!
At Fred Meyer (Kroger) today, I saw 6-packs of small Squishmallows. Very cute, and at about 4 inches tall, would easily fit in stockings. They were in the seasonal area, not toys.
Sadly, can’t ship plants to Hi—ag issues. Can keep in touch with those I shipped bulbs to. Costco also has bulbs on their website—a 3 pack for $29, from a different vendor.
I am including kitchen towels in kids’ stockings this year. Mickey Mouse for the Disney fans, and Cute kitten that looks a little like their cat for other couple. I also found some nice Disney coasters for 3 bucks (discounted a lot) so they will go in too.
Found it at Costco. $4.99 for two larger sized tubes. Good brand. A $2.50 stocking stuffer is something I can get behind! It’s a great staple to have for recipes and you don’t have to waste an open can or bother freezing it.
Will have to be on the lookout for those tubes. Have seen smaller ones in other stores. I think I prefer the smaller tubes so you can just add desired amount and can toss as appropriate without qualms and wasting a lot. I’ve started using it instead of cans of tomato paste to thicken tomato-based sauces.
Grab 'em while you can - went to two different post offices today and they are sold out of all holiday stamps - referred me to Amazon !!! at almost 2x the price. Coffee design and basically every decorative stamp sold out. Ugh!
You can still order both types of stamps on usps.com. If you’re a Costco member you can buy holiday stamps online (maybe in person too) but have to buy 100 stamps.
