2022-2023 USC Transfer

Do you think decisions will come out over the week, or is it just today?

I think we will get more all week, then it will snooze for a bit. After the first rain of TTP (starting today) then regular transfer decisions, it turns into a spit here or there until about May 26-27th blast.

Did anyone doing TTP JCU get an acceptance yet?

Thank you to all of you for information and support this year. My TTP legacy son was accepted into Viterbi CSBA for fall 2022 yesterday. He will have completed all lower division requirements and most allowable GEs by the end of Spring 2022. He currently has a 4.0 and is attending an LA CC.

Oddly, he had received a SGR in early April but was accepted yesterday. We thought the SGR was odd given that he has completed so many of the requirements and a high unit count completed.

Congratulations to your son on admission to Viterbi. Can you share which classes he took during his time at LA CC? Many thanks!

Congratulations!
Can you share which classes you took as freshman to prepare for this admission?

Congratulations to your son, by any chance did he ever receive an email about the SGR he received or did it just appear in his portal? If so did he submit any materials or did he just wait?

I am also applying to Viterbi CSBA and had an SGR appear in my portal over the past weekend but never received an email about anything.

thanks a lot.

Hi Charlotte. My son dual enrolled for senior year and then did another TTP year at CC, so he has a fair number of units. I think he has 58 units completed and 17 in progress right now including 6 or 7 CS courses which will not transfer, but Viterbi likes to see for CS candidates. We followed the Viterbi transfer plan, but since it was his second year at CC, we wanted him to be able to apply to the UCā€™s as well. So after this semester, he has completed all but one of the USC GE requirements (leaving 2 to take at USC) and he will complete that one in the summer.

English 1 and 2 (2 articulating to the lower division writing requirement)
Mathā€“Calc 1, 2 and 3 and Linear Alg and Differential equations
Science-Physics 1 and 2 (didnā€™t take Phys 3 cause CSBA doesnā€™t require it
CS courses-2 C++ courses, Java, Discrete structures, Data Structures, Architecture and Organization
.
He took Calc 1 over as he had taken it Junior year of HS. I think Viterbi wants to see 2 upper level math classes completed such as Calc 1 and 2 at minimum.

I hope this is helpful. Since my son took classes during Covid he ended up attending several CCs, especially for the CS classes which can be hard to get into. Please let me know if you have any questions.

He received an email but did not look to see if it was also in his portal. Strangely, he had received a WGR for one course that does not really articulate to USC. He uploaded it right away and received the SGR email shortly thereafter.

so will the regular transfer decisions release on may26-27?

Thank you for sharing this helpful info. Your sonā€™s accomplishment is truly impressive, any school would be lucky to have him. His CS classes are not a waste, but only help him to have easy time retaking at USC (if thatā€™s where he chooses to attend ).

Hey I have a quick question.

Did any of you guys send two letters of recommendation from two different professors? I wanted to send another letter to my application but Common App only allows 1 academic letter which I already used. Can I use the professional section to put in another letter of rec from a professor?

Thank you!
Iā€™m currently attending a bay area cc that uses the quarter system, and my classes are as follows:
Fall 2021: Calc 3, English 1, the first C++ class my school offers, and an art class for GE
Winter 2022: Calc 4, English 2, second C++ class, and a history class for GE
Spring 2022: Linear Algebra, third C++ class, and a general bio class for GE
My GPA is 4.0 and in total Iā€™ve taken 52 credits this year (including the ones this quarter). Hope this helps & let me know if thereā€™s anything else I can share!
