21 days until SCEA decision!

Lol, "deathly important question", and then you go back to playing your game. =)

okay lets not be stupid here... Stanford is in CALIFORNIA... we are in CALIFORNIA (at least i am) why would they send their decisions on an eastern based time ? and it doesnt matter, they are sending them at 5 PM on friday the 14th , at least that is as of today although the lady at the office said all admissions decisions are still subject to change so we'll see what happens....

and who studies for classes anymore.. honestly, wasn't that like 9th grade?

so when you call the admissions office you get a recording saying that "stanford will be sending out e-mail notifications mid afternoon on friday december 14th PACIFIC TIME, we will also be sending out notifications via snail mail the same day"

hope this answers some Qs

AngelFidelis, 5 PM PST isn't exactly "mid-afternoon," are you sure that's the time?

All I know is, I'm checking my email like crazy throughout the week.

Oh and Wikipedia says the definition of afternoon is often subjective. Maybe Stanford's definition of mid-afternoon is later than what we think? lol

Wikipedia is often subjective.

Someone in the "list of SCEAers" thread said that he heard the emails are out at 12:00 PST on Friday.

Can someone please call the admissions? I'm a lazy bum and I don't want to wait 10 min on the phone.

COD4 ftw!

Last year it was 5pm on Friday.

^ EST, for all the doubters out there

Which = mid-afternoon, PST

Yeah, I'm going to have to think it'll be 2 PST and 5 EST. After all, if they did it at 5 PST, they'd soon be leaving for the day...and I don't think they'd want to stay for a few more hours (on a Friday, mind you) to field a bunch of questions that are sure to crop up.

well then that is a good excuse to skip 5th period yay!

either way we know its coming friday sometime after 12 - to all you anxiety-stricken ones, just relax, decisions are on the way and its not the end of the world (but close to it haha)

so im playing mario kart, super smash (N64 mind you) and having star wars marathons this week in order to keep myself sane, what's everyone else doing?

haha, well. I have other college applications and several tests to study for. It's not gonna keep me sane, but at least it will keep me busy.

do you by any chance have shadows of the empire, AngelFidelis?

So do we all agree that the email will be sent on 2:00 PST and 5:00 EST

Based on the facts that
1) Last year, the decisions were mailed out on 5:00 EST
2) Autoreply indicates that the email will be sent in mid-afternoon
3) Admissions say the emails will be sent at 5:00 (no indication of zone)

Here is the new countdown

Customized counter

good work sam.

I have a crazy week ahead, which includes a Harvard interview and my 18th birthday.

So I have to admit I'm a little impressed with the volume of yale-hopeful posts.

Thus, I'll ask the same question they're discussing: how is everyone planning on opening their response? Alone, surrounded by family, etc?

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to mention anything to anyone. If they ask...that's a far different matter. I'd got a decent alternative so in case none of my colleges work out...I have a backup plan!

Excellent Sam! Even got a new counter!

Good question Pommery, I'm going to check as soon as I can, which requires me being in the library before Track starts. I'd rather find out at home, but I don't think I could stand the extra waiting.

I don't think I'll be alone, however, I'd imagine a few other EA applicants'll be there.

I will probably race home from school at 2:30, be frustrated by the server being backed up, then after sitting there trembling waiting for the decision I will:

Get in (gasp). I will then cry like a baby (as in shed actual tears) with relief and happiness and run around the block in a victory lap.

Get deferred (which I'm expecting) and thank god I wasn't rejected, but be p1ssed the rest of the day and then get over it by Saturday.

Be rejected and enter a state of depression for the rest of December and probably screw up all my other applications because I'm too busy sitting dejectedly in my bed or playing call of duty 4.

But that's just me. Lets hope for #1, eh?

Run around the block in a victory lap sounds exhilarating.
