Maybe I'll pull a Will Farrell and streak =)

THAT would be exhilarating.

I will either go to the public library where no one knows what I'm doing (and thus are not waiting with bated breath) or ask my mom to work a little late so I can have the house to myself. I will of course look away from the screen as it is loading. I hope there isn't like "CONGRATULATIONS!" in the subject line. I want it to just hit me all at once, whether positively or negatively. I know I will be a wreak on friday! I'm EST, so I'll probably not make myself go through the load/reload cycle and I'll just sign on at 5:05 or 5:10.

3 days 8 hours etc etc. O_O

omg.

If Accepted --> Elation, jumping, yelling, screaming, even if in library
If Deferred --> Ugly face of worry
If rejected --> Crestfallen, frowny face :(

Snow Day!!!!

Its kind of funny. I found myself camped outside my mailbox for the first time in years and it was raining. Not hard mind you, but enough to make standing outside cold and uncomfortable .

snow day too!
why?? there is nothing going on here in WI

^I KNOW! I got a call from a friend this morning saying we had no school and I was like "GOD YES." As I have a 17 page paper due tomorrow...

what's the fun in streaking alone?
I'll go with you Steve

Someone said along the lines of :The admission office will have to answer a lot of phone calls after they give out the decisions online.

People actually call to ask why they've been rejected/deferred?

Yes, lots of people, just for other apps not Stanford specifically.

How does the admission office go about explaining a rejection? I would assume the explanation would be very general; or do they actually deal with it case by case? So we can actually challenge a made decision, or is it just pointless complaining that people do

For well connected guidance counselors or people who were close to the cutoff it can be case by case. The purpose is not to challenge a decision, but to see the weakness in one's app.

i would hate that job
the premise would be "you aren't good enough

they won't explain it.
And chances are, even if they tell you it might not be the actual reason.
They will say "many applicants are qualified, and we had only so few spots. So we had to make a decision"

so ive been reading the columbia 2012 accepted thread.... i'm getting SUPER NERVOUS!!!! AHHH even though i think im gonna be rejected i just kinda wanna know already!!!!!!!!!

Yeah.. this whole waiting thing totally sucks. I say we should play a game to pass the time. Quick! Somebody make a game!

hmmm... lets see

"i'm thinking of a number 1 to 5000..."

Pick 5 candidates on the list whom you think are very likely to get in. I know, not the kind of game that would reduce the stress. :)

28 (ten char)

way off! :)
