So I was brainstorming for the infamous "autobiography" question, and I had a thought. I've always understood this question to be in regards to the future. What fool, first of all, would write a 300-page autobiography at the age of 18 (therefore making page 217 about some past experience)?

Anyway, here's my idea: The time period is, as to be expected, around 2/3 of the way through my life. However, due to theoretical future medical discoveries (the invention of every replacement part imaginable . . . advanced green teas that make the darn Asians live so long already . . . I don't know haha), I have so far lived to be 150. Page 217, therefore, is in regards to my 100th birthday and my personal goals for my future.

What do you think? Is it too much? I obviously took the "creative, non-traditional" approach lol

it's fine to interpret the question as either an event in your life that has already occurred or as speculation on what your life will be like 2/3 of the way through. oh, and creativity is okay.

lol you could write about how "today" was the 217th page meaning you are going to die shortly. Lol nah im just playing, dont do that its too fallible. I like your idea.

i would say page 217 is the toughest to write well. there are many ways to approach it meaning there are many ways to write the essay poorly. however, if you are creative this could be your best option.

my advice is to not view page 217 as 2/3 of the way through your life. in a biography page 200 may be less than half way through a person's life, or 90% through a person's life depending on when the major events in their life took place. instead, write about a past or future event that will be around the climax of your book. either a past event that was very influential on you or a future event about a goal you wish to accomplish.

Thanks Venkat! I think I can blend my initial ideas with that advice. : )

this is the coolest essay to write ever. it's the piece of writing im most proud of. idk how i came up with my idea to write it but it worked out. just be creative it'll come to you. your idea seems cool but dont be discouraged if you cant write about it...i think i went through like 5 different topics before writing the one i sent in

very interesting idea...i think that it could definitely work, if u worded it nicely. otherwise, it could definitely seem too far-fetched
