minority? or REAAAALLLLY good extracurriculars? or legacy?

Princeton used to practice strategic admissions (sort of like Tufts syndrome, but not exactly). From what I've heard, this is not the case with the current director of admissions.

They even hacked into Yale admissions:

not a legacy. not many ec's...just a few random offices in senior year.

That might be a bigger problem than your scores...try to get more deeply involved in an activity or two rather than hold "random offices." It shows commitment and passion over resume packing.

If that's the result of one or two takings with minimal studying, I don't see why you shouldn't take the test again if you have the potential to do better. However, if you feel lucky right now just to have gotten that, it's time to focus on other things, like Ice Cream.

uhm thats not me :P brahms

Touche.
This is what happens when I post past 2am...
If it makes you feel any better I had a 690 math and still got into three Ivies.

brahms:
I'm gonna be nosy and ask...which ones? (bc one of the ivies I want to go to...besides Yale...is on your list, I'm curious)

oh I'm not a minority
:( why can't I be part Cherokee or something?

What exactly are strategic admissions ?

Please, please. Those are stellar scores. Why in the world would you retake them?

Because all the cool kids are doing it.

No Nup(To OP)

I think that's a very good score. Bear in mind though, that even excellent scores will not guarantee you admission to a college like Yale. I got a 2320 and was rejected from Yale. But then, I'm an international student. I suppose it depends on your whole application (your transcript, advanced placement exams, and so on).

Your scores can only get better, I say try your hand at a retake. My first shot was good (2280), but I hadn't practiced at all b/c of APs. Then, I decided on a wim to take them in the fall and got a 2330, with my composite jumping to 2370. I'm glad I retook

i got a 2230 with good ec's and good gpa and i got rejected from yale. It's all luck if yer in the right stratosphere.

I would not retake it unless you want to up math.
