770 CR 770 writing 710 math (I know that my math is low-- I had a bad day but am planning on retaking in the fall and have absolute faith that I can get it up, considering the fact that i was scoring high 700s/800s on all of my practice tests. Misread 3 qs on the day of the test).
Are these scores high enough to be considered for the Ivies? I am aware of the extent of the competition and that nothing guarantees admission.
Thank you so much!
You can easily answer that by looking at the published data for accepted students.
I’m aware but I was wondering what your input would be anyway. I see that you’re a Brown parent; Brown is my top choice. What does it take to get in? Thank you for your time and sorry for my neurosis!
There is no real “score cutoff”. If you have a 1700, then yes, your app may go straight to the bin. However, if you get rejected from this school it’s not because of your scores. As long as each score is above a 700 (unless we’re talking math and you’re applying to MIT/Harvey Mudd/CMU etc) the general consensus is that you’re fine.
It is in the range, but it really depends on the rest of your application.
