May I ask, is a 2250 SAT score low for Wharton? That was my result for the May SAT.

I have all other aspects ready…so i think my weak point is the SAT? I heard people get into Wharton with score 2300+, am i right?

the EC’s are leadership and sports oriented.
-basketball, golf, volleyball (varsity captains for two of the teams)
-founder for 1 club and vice president for 2 clubs
-music piano 10 years with some awards
-other national/local awards. national merit, writing award, leadership award, etc.
-250 community service hours.

Rec’s will likely be great.
-both teachers really like me

GPAs ranked 2nd in class out of 600…4.0/4.0 though

Essay, still working on it.

going to the M&T camp at wharton this summer.

Thanks.

btw. I’m female asian. I know asians have high scores, so I want to know.
maybe planning on retaking it in October. But I really don’t want to spend the summer worrying and laboring over SATs. If it’s okay, then I plan on not taking it again.

and also, i really don’t have any business oriented activities although i have leadership experiences. will that decrease the chance of my going into wharton?

^ I hear schools like NYU, Berkeley, UT, U Mich, Indiana, Cornell have great business programs.

You guys should also check out the AEM program at Cornell. The stats that you guys post will surly get you into that. Cornell and Wharton are the only two accredited ivy's for the business sector.

I know...I was just trying to let you know of other great options.

The reason I heard that AEM wasnt ranked so highly was becuase they did not send in the average SAT scores and so they got low marks in the section thus, making their rank go down. their average SAT is high.

No he's not, he's pointing out some of the ridiculous hysteria on these boards. People on these boards ask some of the most boneheaded questions sometimes.

Good god 2300?! If you dont at least get >2450 you are a failure at life. For Wharton you NEED a 2600. Bloody hell Wharton doesn't want people who have limits on test scores, they want people who go above and beyond!

Go to your local community college!

Now in a serious tone: My friend got in with a ~2100. Although his ECs were rather extraordinary.

I do find these new SAT threads rather annoying though. This board is beginning to resemble those Harvard boards where such questions are almost always asked.

wow, its hardcore in here! okay, so i know you've all been bashing the kids for being insecure about their SAT scores, but ironically i was looking for what my 2250 could get me into and i ended up here. and while i'm here i'm just wondering if any of you have any insight on some good premed schools that i can reasonably get into, looking at scores only of course. if i am a sitting duck, then go ahead and shoot, if u have some useful tips they are very welcome.

You in no way need a 2300 or above to get into Wharton. I got in with an 1890. Just because you do good on a standardized test doesn't mean you are going to get into the school. They consider your entire application and the scores are just a small part of that.
