did HORRIBLE in hs - barely made it into Baruch College. Want to transfer to more reputable bus. u-grad program. Thinking Indiana or U Mich - nice acceptance rates. At Baruch have a 3.35 but thats only about 21 credits - before that was a terrible GPA - maybe 2.5? think retaking the sat's is worth it? 1100SAT

(1) Colleges typically dislike transfers retaking standardized tests

(2) A 3.35 will not get you anywhere close to U Mich, especially for business. You’ll need a 3.6+ to come close.

You need to contact each of the places on your Transfer list, and ask whether or not they require the ACT/SAT, and if they will accept a recent one instead of the one that you took in high school. You also need to find out how many college credits you need to have before they don’t require a high school transcript. It may be that you need to stay at Baruch until you have two years of credits - not necessarily a bad thing if you can continue to pull up your GPA.

If you haven’t taken a look at the Transfer Forum, you should do that. There are a couple of useful threads at the top of that forum that have good resources for transfer students.

Wishing you all the best.

tks - shed any light on why #1 is true?

Generally SAT/ACT are considered tests that predict the college success of a HS student. So, it’s difficult to determine the value of these tests when taken well into college.

I’m can’t tell how many semesters you’ve completed, but if you’re applying as a jr transfer, generally it’s not that useful to retake standardized tests as your college record is more important. However, for sop transfers applying to selective colleges, it is sometimes recommended to retake tests. It also depends on the policy of the school as some permit retakes in college and others don’t.

Think will retake anyway just because sick of putting crappy score on internship applications.

Out of curiosity do you know how the scores appear if someone were to request them? just like 2 scores or separate.

Tks

They will list each separate sitting, with the date taken and the section scores. Check the school websites, see if they permit you to use Score Choice and/or if they Superscore.
