I am going to transfer to a different school before the start of my junior year.

Here are my stats:
SAT scores: 1250
HS GPA: 2.75
College GPA: 3.8

The only thing I can really improve are my SAT scores. I really don't want to take it now that there is a writing section on it. I'm a really bad standardized test taker. How much colleges look at SAT scores for transfer students? Is it even worth my time to try and improve my score up to a 1400. I am thinking about taking the ACT test instead.

The schools I am considering to apply to University of Chicago, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, NYU Sterns, and Babson.

Since I didn't do so well in high school. I picked an easy school in florida to get my act together. The school is call Lynn University, a really small college in Boca Raton. Does what college you transfer from matter?

So would I have a chance of transfering into any of the schools that I mentioned. Also if colleges don't look at your SAT scores why do they request it?

Yeah I am probably going to retake them. But with my current stas what are my chances. I need an idea so I know how much more I have to improve.

I'm in a similar situation, except I'll be transferring after my freshmen year (I'm going to FAU boca right now, which is like, an exit or two from Lynn), so my test scores are going to be weighed more heavily. I would say your GPA by far outweighs standardized test scores, but I intend to take the ACTs at least (since most schools only require the SATs, I can send them to boost my prior score if I do well, and if I don't, I don't have to send them at all). You might want to consider doing something similar.

Is your GPA all you have to work with though (not to diminish your hard work)? It's just hard to tell your chances without knowing what else you're involved in - have you done any volunteer work? Internships? ECs?

Yeah, I am in some ECs such as like SAS, FBLA, International Club, and a bunch of other clubs. No leadership positions though since I am only a freshmen. The school requires that you do 10 hours of volunteer work so yes I have. I have been trying to get an internship all summer but no luck.

Is ECs a real matter in the transfer application process? During this two year in a small college, i pretty much busy with ECs and my academic is just a bit above average. I am looking for a good engineering program. Will it be helpful if I apply to private school with my ECs because public will not care much about it? Thank
