well, the 40 $ are non refundable so just go to the test but don't send your scores to colleges until they come out (if they are lower then keep them to yourself.)

good luck

good luck

Nice question. Sorry if I sound offensive, but I really mean it. On the other hand, good job and seriously concentrate on others instead of trying to raise a prefect score.

I believe him; the kids from AAST are monsters.
Anyways, I really recommend not taking it. I know a kid who retook a 2370 to get the 2400, and that was just stupid. If you had gotten a 2290 or a 2280, then maybe. But a 2350 is a different story.

don't retake. a 2350 compared to a 2400 is not statistically significant by any means. even a 2400 against a 2250 won't help very greatly since scores above that point are basically the same b/c of the sheer variability.

good lord. congradulations!

if you think you can do better, and the money/time block isn't an issue, go ahead and do it again. but those are great scores, so unless the schools your sending them to are incredably competetive, i wouldn't think it's totally necessary.

I actually sympathize because I got a 2370 (770 Math) and I really want to retake because a friend got a 2400. ;) He did it on retake (his 5th time, 2nd on the new test) and his last take was 2200... so I figured it's not fair that I'm stuck with a "lower" score on my application if I got 2370 my first try, right?

And then I catch myself, and think, wait, I'll just look like a fool. And, I realize now, so would you. :P

You should learn to be happy for who you are without comparing yourself to others.
I thought twice before opening this thread, but I think the responses were so great, it was definitely worth reading!!

They're magnets. A 2200 is low.

Don't diss my score. ;)

Ha. 2200 is a dream score for me.

i hate the person that made this

hey

NERD.

get new friends

NERD.

that way you won't have to compare yourself to them

NERD.

or maybe it's just your self

get it yet?

Just retake it...what's there to lose

You hate the person WHO made this.

Sorry!

Actually, "that" is grammatically acceptable when describing a person.

And I know a girl who wants to retake a 2390.

****ing showoff.

In general, if you get above a 2250 or if all of your scores are 720+, there isn't any real good reason to retake. Even if you are going to a magnet school.

In fact, since you ARE going to a magnet school, you likely have a much better chance at getting into top colleges. I'm sure they know all about you guys, and are dying to get their hands on the top 10% of your class!

But even if you aren't in the top 10%, your scores won't make a difference. Since it's obvious you are qualified for Ivies (I'm assuming you've gotten good grades, and by that I mean A's and a few B's) what will make the biggest difference between acceptance and rejection is your personality, your extracurriculaars, and your life, and not your SAT scores.

I suggest you retake it. 2350 is a good score, but it is better if it is higher.

If you can get a 2350 on the SATs, you're smart to figure it out yourself

If you're really asking this, you're lucky to get that score. Be grateful.

dude, a 2350 vs a 2400 is more or less luck...it's a few questions...unless you're absolutely sure you're going to get a perfect (which I doubt), then don't retake it, you'll look like an ass.

Congrats! That's an excellent score!
