2350- Retake or not to Retake?

Our guidance counselor suggested it. It has score choice-my parents are azn so they dont really give a crap about $$ if it means i can get into a good college, and I really don't mind taking another test, so i guess the answer to your questions is... Why not? =D (The first time i took ACT's was in October i got a 36/36/36/28 <-science). I was blindsighted by the science because i literally walked into that room wondering what an ACT was (no prep or anything). The science I actually READ everything carefully so i ran out of time... who knew u werent supposed to actually read the stuff? =P heh. Just want to improve my sci score and i can then supplement my SAT scores with that.

So having a SAT score and an ACT helps, rather than one or the other?

You really are a 'tru azn'. What incredible scores . . .

hey guys, I applied EA to Harvard and got deferred, but I was accepted RD. Should I take a gap year and reapply so that I can get accepted EA?

...props on the great scores though

you want to retake a 2350?!

dot dot dot

I go to this school, and im quite confident that there aren't 25 kids with a 2350.

y are u wasting ur time with post asking if u should retake ur 2350..

it is very likely there are 25 students in his school with 2350+. In the junior class at my school ( a underfunded public school in california), there are at least a dozen 2350+.

there was only one in my whole school

Which public schools in California aren't underfunded?
Anywho, retaking a 2350 is pretty useless...

And Joe, the kid has no idea what he/she's talking about...=)

I got a 2400 and am going to retake. The chair I sat in wasn't warm enough and too rigid, so I feel I can do better if I skillfully acquire a better chair this time. =/

Oh, & by the way - anyone here from Arcadia High in CA? I think I'm moving there next year.

This thread is such a "CC Quality"

Don't bash him too hard... i was in the same situation for about 3 seconds...

I got a 2350 on the may, and its not like i'm unhappy at all, its just that its so close to a 2400 that its tempting to take the test over again. Honestly, its something that will probably be in the back of my mind until i get my acceptances/rejections

Then again, retaking the test would entail sitting through four more hours of supreme pain and giving the (evil evil please die now) college board forty more dollars. And I'd probably get a lower score.

But don't pillory the guy for wanting a 2400. Its not him, its the system.

hikaru, I hope you saw my response to your idiocy on the previous page.

I hope you are aware that if your 2350 becomes a 2400, it wouldn't affect your college application process significantly.... but if that 2350 were to go down.. it would make you lose that "SAT Card" with HYPSM & other schools... also, if your real reason for retaking the SAT's is what I think it is.. that will definitely NOT help!!

But if you choose to retake, I wish you the best of luck in getting a 2400!

:D do you really need those extra 50 points?????????????????????????

i didn't feel like reading through all the pages (i read the first two)... but you could try asking for an "exchange" if they won't give a refund... like maybe go take a couple sat iis if you're not done with them already... anyway... CONGRATS!! :D

Murasaki-I shall laugh at you when not only does my score increase, but you realize that I don't measure myself based on scores. There are things in my life more important than the SAT.

It is quite obvious to me that you "don't measure yourself based on scores", especially since you are retaking a 2200. Also, I considered the fact that you would study already. There is a point where studying no longer helps that much, and I'm quite confident you have crossed it. Once you have done all the CB tests, there is not much left to study. My previous posts hold true.

I shall laugh when you retake and score lower Murasaki.

btw, this is quite fun. lol

Just because I don't measure myself on scores doesn't mean I won't retake. There is a point where studying no longer helps, but I have not reached it, because I've been doing better on my math and writing in practice. Furthermore, I took the test in June, and have already retaken. I'm confident that I did much better.

You moron . . . how in the world do you think you know where the point is that studying doesn't help? You're not me. You know of me only through an internet connection. How in the world could you possibly know? Oh yeah. You can't. So don't talk like you do. Go somewhere where your idiocy and psuedo-logic are appreciated, nothing you say makes sense. In case you still don't understand, I'll dumb it down for you.

1) I've experienced progress in the practice that I did before I retook, and was confident when I took the actual SAT in June, which seemed much easier anyway.

2) You still assume that I've reached the point at which I can't improve, yet you know of my efforts only through an internet connection, making it dumb of you to make those assumptions.

3) I don't measure myself on SAT scores, but I still improve them because they can improve my chances and give an accurate representation of my capabilities.

btw - seeing you make claims that make barely any sense is fun, lol Especially when you contradict yourself several times and then try to put me down as if you even have the right to make conclusions about my capabilities. You don't know me, nor do you know anything about my progress outside of what I've posted on this board, so stop acting like you do.

Is that simple enough for you?
