Surprisingly find out on Colgate Portal said 23th will be the rough notification date...I thought it would be early April given the huge number of applicants applying to Colgate.
OK...Anyone knows how Colgate notifies applicants? Mail, email, or online check?
Any input appreciated! And good luck prospies!

hey i saw that this morning as well! colgate mails its decisions–which is lame! but such is the case!

Then it will take a long time for me to recieve my decision given the place where I live…such waiting is surely worthehile as long as it is a thick envelope out there! BTW, I heard if Colgate rejects an applicant, they will normally just send an email…to save the work. Maybe? Who knows! Good luck!

on the portal it says “on or about March 23” and since Colgate mails its decisions then in order for it to even reach many persons by that time then theywould probably have to mail them the monday or tuesday, i.e the 21 or 22.

Good luck everyone!!! hope we all get in

hey guys,
do they mail rejections?
also…will they be mailing overseas as well?
I assume so…
If that is the case, then should I even be expecting
my letter this week? (I live in Asia)

Arvp11- I’m not sure if Colgate mails rejections…though it appears to be the case, wouldn’t it be more convenient just to email our decisions? I guess all we have to do is wait until 23th, then check our portal to see if they post decisions online. If not, we may have to wait for a few days to receive our decision. It will take about a week for you to receive the packet since I live in Asia too! Good luck!

to all the international applicants - Colgate will FedEx your decision letter.
I live in Israel and mine got here in around 45 hours! crazy

@giaviv Colgate gonna snail mail international as well? the acceptance letter? won’t it be sent in an email? or the portal?

The answer is succinctly delivered on the website colgate.edu/admissions/faq, as follows:

When are decisions mailed?
Admission is granted only through written notice by the Office of Admission. Regular decision letters are mailed in late March or early April.

Clear enough.

i was referring to internationals - they FedEx all international decision letters. no emails / phone notifications / portal. only the letters that they send…

but i heard only the admitted students get their decisions vie Fedex… as for the rej international students, email? idk…not sure enough…

rly need to confirm how will rej students get their decisions

it would make more sense for colgate to email rejected applicants, especially international applicants, but to send out paper rejections would show that they do care enough to spend the money to do this.

I’m international and i would mos def prefer a mailed rejection rather than the usual cold email.

Colgate does not e-mail rejections to anyone.

will decisions be mailed on the 23rd… or will we get them by the 23rd?

they don’t even have a thing called ‘waiting list’…I’m on the waiting list of several schools…I mean if they really dont they really should…

im so nervous.
sooo nervous.
does anyone know whether there will be an exact time or not?
will they be released in batches?

i think its easier for us to figure out a time to expect snail mail when colgate email the int’l. colgate email rej to int’l i’m assuming and tracking # to those who get in.

I called last week, admissions office confirmed letters will be mailed out Wednesday or Thursday (today or tomorrow.)

^

according to their facebook page, the decisions have already been mailed.

any definitive answer regarrding them being posted online?
