Hi, just curious here. Any one ever accomplish this or 2300+ without any preparation?

Sure people have, however the number is very very small. From this data table you can see the number of people total who scored in that range, and that number is small in itself.

To get a 2400 without any prep means that you are quickly adaptable. Very much so. You not only have to possess the requisite knowledge but also be able to apply the requisite knowledge to the SAT. Being rapidly adaptable, however, is an indicator of one’s intelligence.

Without any prep, I scored a 2250 on my first go-around. I didn’t do too well in math, however, so I decided to retake it. I did a few practice tests and then, with a little luck, scored a 2400.

I doubt it. It’s difficult to take a test cold because you need to learn the instructions/format/timing etc.

my brilliant friend got a 2370 on her first time, no prep.

My brother’s friend took it in 10th grade with no prep and got a 2400, but got one wrong. He could take it again for free (reduced lunch program), so he did and got a 2400 with none wrong. Most people who get over 2300, even with prep, could do it without prep because it means you’re just that smart, in my [not so] humble opinion.

Yes, it is absolutely possible. The people who do it amaze me. There are some who study forever and get a good score and others that walk in and ace it without breaking a sweat.

Got a 2330 with no prep. Didn’t want to take it after a 36 on the ACT, but needed to for National Merit Scholar. The ACT is an achievement test, it tests you on things you already know, so preparation is important (although I didn’t really study for the ACT either. :P) but the SAT is just that, a Scholastic Aptitude Test, that tests your ability to think critically and determine how strong your college academic performance would be, so preparation isn’t as important.

I know a few people who scored 2400 w/out any prep…most of them are math geniuses though. I scored 800 on math with no prep, but I had to review some vocab and reading/writing strategies.

Wow I find it amazing how many smart people you all know, haha, never in my real life experience have I met anyone with an SAT over 1900. Well, except one kid, but it’s like a huge rarity at my school. And that kid prepped for months.
Thanks for all the input and stories.

Riri- sat doesn’t stand for scholastic aptitude test anymore. It’s just called the sat. not ****tin you

SAT = Saturday.
