2400s Don't Get in!

Ok, so I'd like to clarify something for myself:

A lot of people say that even students who get 2400s don't get in to top colleges, and this is certainly true. BUT, is there reason to believe that the closer you get to a 2400, the higher your chances are? I mean, i read somewhere some x% of 2400s didn't get into a particular school. However, the value (100-x)% is significantly higher than the general acceptance rate of the college.

Please keep in mind, i'm not trying to troll here and ask if i can get into any school with a 2400 - that is a foolish thought, test scores are far from being the most important part of an application. However, it is only practical of me to consider any way in which i can improve my college app.

PS, i'm still a junior, not applying this year.

I don’t see the point of your post.

“Ok, so I’d like to clarify something for myself:”

So why share it with everyone else? Everything you wrote is common knowledge.

I may be wrong, but I read somewhere that 30% of 2400’ers get in.

However, their entrance is obviously not based on JUST their sat scores. The abilities that helped them achieve a perfect sat score, usually, helped them to achieve other notable accomplishments.

But definately, scoring higher on the sat’s, or any other test for that matter, is better then scoring lower.
