If I were to enter Tech with 29 hours from AP tests, I would still be considered a freshman, correct? Should I self-study another AP to get 30 or more hours to be considered a sophomore? Would there be a significant benefit to doing this?

It would help you incrementally for that course, but it’s not a big deal. I promise that no current 2nd year student would consider you as a peer for bringing in AP credits; you’re still a first year student and should act accordingly (as there is a year’s worth of knowledge of being on campus that you do not have). In other words, don’t let it go to your head, nor brag to anyone that you’re technically a sophomore.

Still, good for you for bringing in so many credits! :-)
