Where do students typically live in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years? If not on campus where do people live? Are there places available off campus and if so, how is it? The area itself ins't so spectacular..

the "off campus" area of USC is right in the same area as the "on campus" area. there is enough housing so that kids can find places that are walking distance and right by on campus apts

Students all basically life off-campus after their first year. Many go through USC's housing process, which consists of a majority of off-campus apartments, although there are a few on-campus places, such as Webb, that they can apply.

USC's apartments are all basically north of campus. Mine (probably the most popular option for students) is in a perfect location, about two blocks away, right between campus and the Row. There are students living everywhere around here.

For students who don't choose to live in USC housing, a major company that students use is Conquest Housing. This offers many apartments in the area as well, although the majority aren't as close as USC's housing options. Students also go through independent apartments in the vicinity, or rent downtown.

I love living off-campus. I really like my apartment, and you can't beat going out on your balcony and seeing the skyline. The area is really quite nice, I think. It's really peaceful, actually (not always at night, but that's another story...)
