So this Saturday is my second ACT test and the first one didn’t go too well…
Unfortunately I didn’t reach the score I wanted which was above 30
Hopefully this time I can achieve that!
The problem is I get very nervous and anxious on test day. When I’m sitting in my desk staring at the questions. I have a blank face and although the questions seem easy to me, I just can’t bring myself to answer the question.
I really need some help dealing with this and was wondering if you guys had any tips??
Thanks.
You should definitely continue to think positive thoughts in your head and confront your fears. What are you specifically nervous about? What do you fear will happen? By consistently assuring yourself that this will not happen and that you are capable of answering the questions (By chance what was your score and what is your target score?), you will feel much calmer and more confident in the room. Practicing at home with realistic controls (timing, no distractions etc.) you will be able to mimic the environment and become acclimated to its continued exposure. Deep breathing, calm thoughts, and a confident mindset will definitely help you.
Lots of students suffer from test anxiety but once the source of the anxiety is identified and handled, the nervousness will go away.
